Nice place to grab a meal. It's a bit difficult to find restricted-menu items but they do try to accommodate (I'm not allowed the starches so they did switch fries for a pretty good size salad). Fish & chips are really nice, burger too. It's a bit noisy but it is a bar.

My husband and I both ordered the evening special--a pasta dish--and found it perfectly prepared and the quantity plenty for two meals. The brews were fresh and unique and we would return in a heartbeat!

We stopped here on the last leg of a road trip, needing fuel for the push home. This definitely succeeded, we want to return and bring friends to try the rib eye steak. I had yummy chicken strips- freshly prepared, not the frozen restaurant supply version! My husband had an ample portion of chicken fettuccini (which tasted even better the... More

Highly recommend this brew pub with excellent food. Family friendly....does NOT look or act like a pub or bar. Ribs were really good! Calimari super! Beer very good! Everything we viewed coming out of the kitchen looked great. We will eat here again when we're in the area.

Great beer, decent service, probably the best place for a casual evening out, in the summer months there can be quite a wait.

We recommend Barley Browns to our guests at our B&B based on quality of food and service. Sometimes they can get really busy and service tends to wane, but usually our guests are quite satisfied. They only serve dinners.

We really love this place and their beer is phenomenal. However, their service is declining and it may be because they are overwhelmed. The food is good, especially the hand cut fries, from the Reubens, fish and chips, and burgers. I sure hope the service improves.

Number 1 in Baker City. Don't hesitate to stop by and experience quintessential Baker City. Never worry about the service or feeling like an outsider.

Description
Barley Brown's was established in 1998. It's located in the Historic District of Baker City Oregon. The in-house brewery can be viewed from the dining room. Best Places Northwest says "Baker City's best (and biggest) dinners come from this family-friendly brew pub" Fudors describes it as the "Cheers" of Baker City. The beautiful oak bar is surrounded by antique bar stools made from the original jury chairs out of the Baker County court house. It's a fully stocked bar, with a wine list, and featuring Barley Brown's award winning beers. The dining room is lined with large oak booths under a stamped tin ceiling. The one story brick building is easy to find at the corner of Main and church streets. It has a parking lot and plenty of street parking. Closed Sundays and most Holidays.
