We ordered the camerons diabla and the pork chile verde. Huge portions and both were absolutely delicious. Very cute atmosphere and service was fast and friendly.

We had been craving Mexican food for a week or so, so stopped in El Sol on our way into Coos Bay. The salsa was nice and cold and flavorful as we browsed the menu. I chose the Enchiladas Rancheras lunch and my partner had the pork chile verde, his yardstick for Mexican cuisine. I didn't get my choice of... More

My family's favorite Mexcian spot in town. Clean and colorful interior. My in-laws are regulars. I'm impressed with how the chef and waitress recognize them and treat them special. This is indicative of the routine attention put into the meals and service. Standouts are the chips and salsa, guacamole, margaritas, crispy carnitas, huge burritos, and chili verde. The camerones are a... More

We had the super special combo and it was a large plate full of delicious choices. Chili relleno was fantastic, homemade taco and chicken enchiladas. All excellent and make sure to ask for the green habanero sauce if you like spicy! We highly recommend this restaurant

El Sol is immediately next door to "Lupita's" ... which serves excellent food, with a side of indifference and arrogance thrown in as a "bonus". El Sol, however, serves excellent American - Texas - Mexican food with friendliness and a welcoming atmosphere. The contrast is immediate and striking. It is "family friendly," with the families one sees in the restaurant... More

Every time we visit Coos Bay, eating at El Sol is a must for everyone in our family. They have an extensive menu of authentic Mexican dishes and everything we've tried has been excellent! Love the enchiladas and the super burrito! The owners are very friendly, taking time from cooking and serving to get to know their customers. Service is... More

The food is very good and plentiful. Their burritos are HUGE! The staff is very friendly and they provide quick service...sometimes they're extremely busy because a lot of loggers and woods workers go there to eat because the food is so good and inexpensive.

I ordered the two burritos plate and got them the portions were VERY SMALL. The tortilla was small and looked like they were purchased from a walmart store. They had NO GREEN CHILE which I eat REGULAR in COLORADO (by the way PUEBLO, Colorado has the BEST CHILE in the NATION Mussos farms is the best). The flavor I could... More

Good Mexican food at average prices. Service is good at times, slow at others. Generally a good value, but nothing to write home about.
