My husband & I were going to check out the lounge & have a drink, however after taking a peek inside, I noticed several couples walking around not wearing masks. They were not sitting at tables. This was our first time ever going out for Thanksgiving Dinner instead of cooking and washing dishes for days and days with food that would explode the refrigerator and freezer for months. So, I don't have a lot to compare to. The prices were good...for a full TG meal along with prime rib and ham. ($25.-30. each person) We made our reservation for 2:00 PM. The location was easy to find from I-5. The ambience is that of 1970s ramada inn. It's dated but the lights were low, the chairs comfortable and the food areas clean. It was reasonably quiet save for the hum and buzz of people coming and going, ordering etc. That made it easy to carry on a conversation. I was impressed because there was a full bar and I could order a cocktail. I requested an Old Fashioned. It came sloshing over the top of the glass. I imagine the bar tender was looking away when he and literally went overboard with the fizzy water. It was fizzy water with a splash of whiskey and bitters, not a quality Old Fashioned. Considering the crowd the wait staff was amazing. Kudos for excellent planning ahead and hiring well trained staff who knew what they were doing. Who ever is training this staff should be doing workshops for other food service businesses. They were GREAT and possibly the best in the region. Our needs and questions were attended to quickly, efficiently and cheerfully. The buffet was self serve with a variety of salads and the usual sides included in a traditional TG dinner. The meats were handed out sparingly, really sparingly and we ended up going back for seconds. All were cooked perfectly and it affirmed the notion of going out and letting professionals do the job of cooking holiday dinners. There was a variety of desserts including pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Apparently cheesecake was the big hit because they ran out almost as soon as we got there. All in all, I will most certainly do this again. It's clear the Village Green is experienced in meeting the many varied wants and needs of fussy old people who just want a good steak and baked or a traditional TG dinner, . :-) We snooped around the building and found some lovely rooms, a sports bar and a lounge. We will most likely return when the temps are warmer and explore further.More
We always enjoy visiting the Village Green lounge. Prices on the bar menu are very reasonable. Small menu, but good snacks, sandwiches, salads and more. Sometimes understaffed, so service can be slow at popular times. Live music (after 7pm) can be pretty loud for conversation,...and lighting is dim day or night. Staff is friendly, and we've never been disappointed with the food.More
I wasn't sure what to expect at a simple hotel, but was quite surprised. The meal was included on a jetsetter stay, and thought it would be limited. I was offered any item off the menu and a bottle of house wine. I chose to...have a steak which was prepared perfectly. The service was excellent and friendly.More
we have stayed a few times with them. Last time hey were under a remodeling program. There are some very nice off season values. well worth the stay
Stopped here for dinner after a hard days work. The bar tender was very pleasant and the food was good. Thanks for the live music, he had quite an as-sundry of music.
Our friends took us here for a relaxing, fun dinner. We settled into comfortable chairs and couch around the coffee table in front of the fireplace (no fire tonight) and began playing dominos. As the game progressed one of the two women working the lounge...brought us menus and took our drink order. “Bullet and 7” was excellent. Our friends told us that everything that they had eaten here was very good; so, after a short consultation, I ordered fish and chips but substituted fruit for chips. Time for more dominoes while we waited for our food. The food arrived mid-game. I enjoyed my fish and fruit and helped my wife with her tortellini, very good. Back to the dominoes game before ordering dessert. Warning: the desserts are huge, enough for two. I ordered carrot cake. It was very good but only ate part of it because my wife needed help eating her dessert. The rest of the carrot cake went home with our friends. We played a couple of more rounds of dominoes before going back to our hotel. Next time we are visiting our friends in Cottage Grove we will come back here for a fun dinner and, possibly, play one of the more exotic domino games.More
Drinks and dinner at the lounge was a great choice. Staff are super friendly, food is great and happy hour has great pricing.
We always enjoy visiting here. The food is excellent and the service is great. Breakfast was good as well. Later we also had iced tea in the lounge and listened to music. Relaxing and enjoyable.

I had a great lunch on Thursday with my Mom. They were really busy but our waitress Kayla still took great care of us and we had a delicious meal! The French fries were awesome too!
