We have been in many times both before and after the move to the new building. The new building boasts hardwood floors and ceilings, a beautiful centerpiece bar and lots of natural light through the expansive windows. The good is amazing, always hot and just the freshest ingredients are used. Consistently above the bar for breakfast and lunch.

Great place to start your day. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Their sausage patties are yummy, and their cinnamon roll pancake was to die for!

We had breakfast here two days in a row while visiting wine country. Food is very well prepared, service good, kitchen appeared VERY neat and clean. We really enjoyed it here.

We went there for lunch, and we were quite satisfied. Our server, Beth, was about as nice as a human being could be, and she brought the food without much wait. I ordered a BLT, and it was excellent. You know how they make BLTs these days: swimming in mayonnaise and gloppy to the max? It wasn't like that. The... More

Went with a group of 15 ladies and everyone enjoyed their food. I really liked that they let us each come to the cash register to pay for our food instead of trying to split the check. I'm not sure if that's a normal routine or not.

While this location is a bit off of the beaten path, they are a great casual cafe to grab a bite at. They are much less crowded than Red Hills Market and they have good variety. Their burger is the best in the area and it has a comfortable atmosphere.

This one of the only restaurants around this area and worth every bite! Had the chicken and avocado sandwich, so good and staff really really nice!

We had breakfast there which was very good and the price wasn't too bad. It used to be a church but was converted into a restaurant. It's quaint and cozy and we highly recommend it. We plan on going there again the next time we stay at The Vintages Trailer Resort in the area.

My wife and I stayed at The Vintages for a fun getaway and decided to stop at the Block House Cafe in Dayton instead of the Babica Hen (our go to breakfast stop) because it was only a couple of minutes away. Overall, it was a pretty uninspiring place. The history and ambiance is pretty good and I appreciated the... More

We ate here for dinner and breakfast as it was close to where we were staying and they do a great job. My salad was delicious and fresh and my breakfast yummy. The interior is a bit "stark" so they could work on that, but the service was great and it is definitely on my places to stop list in... More

The Block House Cafe is located in the Dayton First Baptist church constructed in 1886. The church has undergone a sensitive and meticulous restoration with an addition on the back (kitchen). The Block House Cafe serves breakfast and lunch with dinners and later hours on Friday nights. Come and enjoy our signature cinnamon roll pancakes or a hand pressed burger with local grass fed beef. Our espresso is locally roasted in Newberg, Oregon and all of our dishes are prepared fresh and to order.
