We walked a few blocks to the restaurant but it was worth every step! We had Brat on Brot, Reuben sandwich and Schnitzelwich. All very wonderful with a Pilzner beer. Authentic food, setting and wonderful staff! Worth the walk from town.

After visiting the shops in Jacksonville, Oregon, we were ready for a late lunch and beer. The Schoolhaus had both plus history and a scenic view. The patio was very comfortable and service was great. My husband and I shared the Schweinebraten platter with two sides; we did not share our beer, both of which were excellent. There was still... Such a fun find on our trip to Jacksonville! We only wish we had made it a littler earlier in the evening. The food and service were both top notch. We hope to make it down there again to spend a little more time.

We are honored to have such a wonderful German restaurant in Southern Oregon. It is located on a picturesque knoll inside an old school house in historic Jacksonville. The food is outstandingly German. I have eaten there on several occasions and have never been disappointed a once. When I have friends and family in town, it is one of the... More

What a cool place. I'd give it five stars but the service was a little slow to start with. Overall strong German food with big portions and reasonable prices. The beers are very tasty and of course you can get a big daddy stein for those who aren't driving. The sausage platter was great and the schnitzel even better. We... More

My husband and I had a reservation on a busy Friday night and were seated promptly. I ordered the crepes and my husband had the Cordon Bleu Schnitzel. He ordered a small side salad ($5.00). The salad was very, very small and not very good. It was not worth the price. My crepes were fantastic. They were stuffed with pork,... More

The title semi-authentic was used because my daughter brought an exchange student friend from Germany here, and the girl refused to let my daughter order anything that was not true to her home country, which eliminated just a few items! I don't care for German food, and did not care for the items I ordered the first couple times I... More

Been there 2x. Food was not so good. Staff were nice. Nice atmosphere. Did not like the food both times and I love German food.

Stopped in to have lunch today. Order the Schnitzel with Rotkohl and Spätzle. The food was delivered fast and hot! Wait staff friendly and the atmosphere was charming. Restaurant is housed in an old brick school house. The meal was so good I had to order Apfel Strudel to go. I highly recommend this place and will be back myself.

This place was a lot of fun. We sat outside on a beautiful day. They have a lot of seating options (inside in a more formal setting, a bar in the back, and several places outside. The history of this place is pretty cool. It is an old school that has been turned into a German Brew Haus. They have... More
