We loved our meal – pasta and pizza! Everything we tasted was outstanding. The olive oil that comes with the lovely bread was excellent. It’s high end food that is reasonably priced. They have BYOB with corkage for $20. The one thing we found was...More

In my opinion, I think you could find somewhere else that's better. There was other places around to check out. Nicks seems ok from the front sidewalk, and looks elegant and has a few food choices. But, when you order a basic pasta dish, and that's all it is, is basic with a simple sauce on it, you feel like its lacking something. Didn't thrill me at all. And my friend was the unfortunate one who got crabshells in her pasta dish, and I think it was the house special. Geez, if they can't take better care to watch for that kind of stuff, they don't deserve to have the ratings they're getting. Guessing their pizzas must be great, cuz we didn't have any and only had pasta. My daughter had a salad, and said it was ok. Nothing special. Not very filling. It took awhile to eat because they had a large party going on in front that took about a 1/3 of the restaurant. And the other tables were full. So, if you're there when they're busy, expect slow service, prep staff working fast and not being efficient in their jobs, and the only upside was that they didn't charge for it. Well, my friend was starving and didn't even want anything else. The bad dish gave her a stomachache, and even tho they offered her something else, she wasn't in the mood to eat. Spoiled our day to end it this way. We otherwise had a great day in McMinnville in the Farmers market, and got to munch on samples at least, so she had something, but I was upset for her. She was more gracious about it then I was. I love food, and a great experience to go with it. This was neither. Try elsewhere. If you get to Dayton, check out Joel Palmers House. Now that was worth the money and the trip!! The service was impeccable and food was stellar. It's very pricey, but I've been wanting to go back there for 12 years, and it was so worth the whole vacation. Not Nicks tho. That was definitely one of the worst places I've been, and an expensive mistake.
