Great Homestyle breakfast, coffee served with a smile. A lot of locals eat here regularly so that's a good sign

I have eaten in several Blackbear diners, but my recent experience in their Redding, Ca location was not up to par. Both the food and the service were mediocore at best.
We stop when ever we see a Black Bear diner. Always friendly service. Food is consistently good and huge selection on the menu. No matter what you are in the mood for, you will find it! And conveniently located off the freeway! Will return!
Black Bear Diners are pretty reliable. I have found that the food is relatively consistent from restaurant to restaurant. Not sure why this waitress got confused. Maybe it was her first week on the job. The Southern Country Gravy and Bisquits w/hashbrowns and 2 eggs was very good. Even though this is my favorite breakfast and Lunch Burger joint, I will not take up their offer for my birthday. Feb,06-17 about 3pm.
My husband and I recently decided to give Black Bear Diner a second chance. It had been awhile since we had eaten dinner there which was rated very low at that time. We have had the pleasure of eating at a number of Black Bear Diners on the I-5 corridor as well as one that is located in the community close to where we live. Black Bear never fails to please. They have a wide variety of menu items ranging from breakfast options all day, old time favorites like meatloaf and spaghetti,... More
These restaurants are all over and can't even remember the one we ate at - think we were in California - 100 other diners can't be wrong! Met some friends there and had a combination of breakfast and lunch! Sooo good! Great service and decent prices! Highly recommend!
