To celebrate family birthdays (five in two days!) we went to The Glockenspiel in Mt. Angel. First we got there in time to see the glockenspiel which played for about five minutes. For my lunch I had the Wurst Platte which had a bratwurst and a smoked sausage, very like a kielbasa. I had the Spätzle (noodles). The sausages were... More

We went on Mothers Day ,they were not that busy . The service was slow we had to get menus off of surrounding tables as no one ever brought us any.One of our group ordered a Mimosa it was flat and muddy colored, Over all the food was okay, but it all seemed old ,nothing seemed fresh, over all it was... Have tried eating here several, poor food, high price. On one occasion, the fish special was so tough you had to use a knife. Have never been asked if everything was ok. Have filled out in house questioner, but no resolve. I won't try again. The service is usually OK, but can sometimes be slow. If you are into German... More

Reasonable place to have lunch (free parking for up to 60 mins in Mt Angel) with a reasonable selection of food. The food is a bit briny but service is friendly.

Neat German restaurant in the heart of a small Oregon town. Atmosphere of the restaurant felt like a European ski lodge (which I loved) and the food was absolutely delicious and authentic. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Everything was a bit on the pricey side, even with splitting dishes and not having an alcoholic beverage. However, the meals... More

After visiting Wooden Shoe Tulips we checked Tripadvisor for a lunch option. German food sounded so good. Nice drive. We had no idea that a German Swiss Benedictine monk started settlement in this area. I had the sausage platter which was terrific and included an excellent potato leek soup. My husband had a sausage sandwich. Flavorful sauerkraut made the sandwich... More

I heard rumors that they had a bad experience with a new chef when chefs Paul and Greg retired but things are back to their usual excellent food. The room is warm and lovely and the service is always excellent. And the actual glockenspiel is charming. Good for all ages. We have had our entire 18 member immediate family, with... More

Thank you so much for giving us another try. We did hit a rough spot with hiring a new general manager and chef.....they really hurt our reputation. Our regular staff pulled together and we are back at our best. I really appreciate your review. Sincerely, Mary A Grant More

Four of us visited for lunch. Each of our meals were cooked perfectly. The schnitzels were golden brown with crisp breading and no gristle. The spatzle wasn't bland and a brown sauce on it was delicious. We enjoyed a wine tasting.

The whole family went to the falls to cool off during the late July heat wave and decided to stop in for diner. We started out with a selection of appetizers which where passed around and enjoyed by all. They all disappeared very quickly so I'm guessing the teenagers liked them. The restaurant had a guest chief from Spain so... More
