I don't know how they make their bread, but it's amazing. Very cool new Orleans atmosphere. Everyone must eat here Cochon Eggs Benedict (pork confit on toasted Vietnamese French bread with perfectly poached eggs draped in caper hollandaise)

We were trying to get in at a very popular nearby southern restaurant but were told the wait would be 90 minutes to two hours. We looked on Google Maps and found Tapalaya and decided to come here instead. We're quite glad we did. We...More

During our Portland visit, found a New Orleans restaurant to try. We tried the oysters and Crawfish boil entree that include potatoes, corn on the cob, mushroom and andouille sausage. The oysters were good, could have been a little more crisper. The andouille sausage was...More

Tapalaya on a Tuesday evening is a special event. First, arrive at happy hour between 4 to 6pm. Tapalaya offers a taste of New Orleans. Delicious tapas like jambalaya, blackened catfish po boys, greens, corn bread, gumbo, etc. Then order a refreshing Hurricane! From 6--9,...More

We enjoyed everything we tasted here - catfish, beef short ribs with grits, fried okra, sweet potato fries, cornbread, bread pudding. Each was impeccably seasoned. As in other "small plates" restaurants, items come with nothing else on the plate, so the bill adds up. Ours,...More

Chef Anh Luu prepared and produced an awesome multi course meal for 13 of us in celebration of our daughter's university graduation. She proposed a menu which we tweaked with her to make a custom meal that our family would love. Each course was perfectly...More

Meals are served tapis style. Usually, this is not my favorite approach. However, for this restaurant I loved it. The small plates give everyone an opportunity to sample several dishes. I had blackened catfish, popcorn shrimp, buttered corn bread muffins, beignets, and café de Monde....More

I have eaten at Tapalaya on at least 5 occasions with company and without. It is a strange place because it kind of has a bizarre interior. The food is New Orleans/Cajun Style and it is very good. They kind of have the small plate...More

Small plates-our group had fried okra, creamed spinach (best ever!), crabby mac (mac & cheese with crab), crawfish and grits, red beans and rice, vegetarian greens and corn bread. Every dish was really outstanding.

Tapalaya is the worlds first tapas (small-plates) restaurant serving Cajun/Creole cuisine. Everything on our menu is made from scratch, with love. The plates of food are small (appetizer or side items size) and perfect for sharing and pairing. Menu items highlight New Orleans favorites: Jambalaya, Collard Greens, N"awlins BBQ Shrimp, Corn Bread and Po'Boys (just to name a few).
