What was formerly a small, yet excellent, bento restaurant is now expanded in every way. The food was always top notch in the past, but now the menu's expanded, as well as the space. Beautifully designed and appointed, the new Shizuku is a testament to Ms. Naoko's culinary art form. We ate here for the New Year's eve set course,... More

Chef Naoko's new restaurant is next door to this address and I believe she closed that one. Shizuku is simple and clean in appearance and lunch choices were more than we expected. The quality of the food was outstanding as any long term residents of Japan can vouch for. We enjoyed our experience and will go back with friends and... More

Kept seeing this place mentioned as one of the top restaurants in Portland and decided to give it a try. Small place with about 18 seats or so serving an assortment of bento -- salmon, chicken, pork, tofu. Super high quality locally sourced ingredients with a list of farms and providers posted on the wall. I was there for lunch... More

We were in Portland over Memorial Day weekend 2016, staying at the Hotel Modera. We found Chef Naoko on Yelp and walked a few blocks over to have lunch. What a surprise. Our idea of "bento" was tempura and some meat with teriyaki sauce, but this restaurant is something much different and much, much better. Each dish was beautifully precise... More

When I travel on business I like eating Japanese, and especially chicken teriyaki bento boxes. This place had one of the nicest I've had in a while. The ingredients were all fresh and good quality and the sriracha sauce was the best I've ever had. Will go back if I'm in the area.

Had the ginger salmon bento box for lunch. The combination is very nice and portion is quite good. Being a very very healthy place, I couldn't get just white rice, but having mixed was not that big a deal. It's just that sometime a nice bowl of unashamed steamed white rice is just the perfect food, even by itself! I... More

Exceptionally fresh and local ingredients, menu is mostly bento boxes. Menu constantly changes to reflect market conditions. Tiny interior; excellent service every time. Close to Portland Art Museum. We go often for lunch but they are now open also at dinnertime.

We had Dinner here. The food was REALLY good and well prepared. The place is not very big and so close quarters. The lighting is low and somewhat makes it difficult to see. Parking is like most places around downtown Portland. We ended up parking 2 blocks away.

There is something about a bento box that draws me to them. May be it is the box, may it is a bit of this, a bit of that. According to Wiki, "Bento" originates from the Southern Song Dynasty slang term 便當 (pinyin: biàndāng), meaning "convenient" or "convenience." When imported to Japan, it was written with the ateji 便道, 辨道,... More

The best Broth ever in an udon soup. all seasonal and so Über fresh, local and with an eye to organic sources. It shows in the flavor and the care of service.
