This restaurant offers fine food and relaxed but friendly service - I was especially impressed by how the waiter brought different wines for us to taste even though we were just ordering one glass apiece. (In fact, his recommendations trumped our own initial choices.)

It was recommended to us by a member of the hotel staff for a spot with an outdoor patio with a sunset view. We went just to do that; however, once we got there, sat outdoors for awhile, enjoyed the sunset, and then got cold, we decided to move indoors to the bar area for a meal. The whole experience... And very reasonable for the quality of the food. The staff could not have been lovelier and they offered some fantastic wine flights.

Rare to find a place so casual yet trying to be formal. Onion rings were fabulous - really - they were not greasy at all and they are full of flavour. A large portion. Menu selection is small - the halibut main was lovely although the fish slightly over cooked. The squash and goat cheese tart was fresh and interesting... More

A rooftop dining room with tables on an outside patio or covered interior patio or bar area. View from all areas is spectacular. Service prompt and careful. Menu is innovative and thoughtfully combined and well executed. The seafood is expertly prepared. Smart options from 5 flights of dinner wines featuring Pacific Northwest and French wines or by the glass choices.... More

A Portland friend took to Noble Rot on a crowded Friday night. What a delightful experience As fresh as the food can be, sourced from local farms and their roof top garden. Great and reasonable wine list, with many selections from Oregon, of course We enjoyed both both vegetarian dishes, local lamb, and pasta... All extremely flavorful and perfectly prepared... More

Came for a glass of wine and the view from the fourth floor looking west. Can sit either outside or inside with large sliding glass windows. Very nice wine list, carefully chosen. Can do flights or single glass. Service is lovely. Ordered the grilled peach salad and the onion tart, both very nice with a glass of Zin!

Wonderful atmosphere with great views. Attentive wait staff, knowledgeable about wines and wineries in the Portland area. Food was tasty, Roof salad was excellent. Will come again!

Combine a fourth-floor patio at sunset, a flight of wine and well-prepared appetizers and entrees, and you have a recipe for a beautiful night in Portland. Be sure to make reservations, as tables with a view are at a premium. Pleased that we could choose from among several flights for our wine tasting, and really loved their Noble Rot, or... More

I visited with a group of friends. We started with drinks and proceeded to dinner. Drinks were OK; appetizers as well. My mac & cheese thereafter was a bit heavy. Noble Rot has a nice funky vibe, fitting with the neighborhood; the best though, is the view from this rooftop eatery.

Description
Noble Rot opened in May 2002. It has gained local and national attention including the NY Times, the Wine Spectator & Gourmet. The Willamette Week named Noble Rot "Restaurant of the Year" in 2003 & Sunset Magazine named it “2009 Wine Bar of the Year”. The best way to plunge into the Rot is through the wine flights that are offered each day. They also display a large bottle selection and all the wines are available to go. Noble Rot’s highly regarded, locally sourced, seasonal food menu is made up of small plates with intense flavors. Noble Rot is perched atop the fourth floor in an award winning, environmentally sound, Leed-platinum certified building (the greenest!) which includes a fantastic west facing city view. With its outdoor patio seating, it is one of the best places in the city to watch the sunset.
