Every morsel I put in my mouth at this restaurant was excellent. If you love Spanish food and are looking for great tapas in Portland, this is your only choice. We had the chef's tasting menu, but I'm sure anything you try would be good. I would recommend going in cooler weather, as the restaurant got really hot on a... More

Our wonderful experience at John Gorham's Toro Bravo was even better than it's reputation. We knew it was a favorite Portland destination, and I even have their cookbook with beautiful photos and stories, but I can't quite capture my enjoyment of the details of their dishes: just the balance of salty/spicy/tang in the lamb chops, the sauce with the fried... We went with friends who had eaten here before. Everything we ordered was delicious -- salad, charcuterie, vegetables, meat entrees. And the cheesecake was one of the best we have had. The short list of beers went well with the food. Service was excellent. Prices seemed reasonable for the quality. We will definitely return.

Even though my husband and I waited for two hours while having a few small tapas, the food is so good that it is worth it.

Toro Bravo is located on an offbeat street with a few other restaurants and bars. The interior decor is very inviting as well as the staff. My wife and I sat at the bar since the restaurant was packed. The menu is well balanced with different tapas and main dishes, where even the pickiest person would find a dining option.... More

Ordered a ton of stuff here, stand outs included octopus, iberico, stuffed peppers and of course the paella. I would return for the paella alone. Prices seemed reasonable, fantastic flavors and great service!

We just had a few dishes at the bar and loved this place. Every dish was delicious and the burger was truly the best I have ever had.

Friends who regularly visit Portland ranked this place a "must try." As expected on arrival Saturday night at 6:30, there was a line and a wait of up to 75 minutes. So my daughter and I went to the Secret Society Lounge upstairs next door for drinks and returned 45 minutes later. Our table at the bar counter came up... More

Had two seats at the bar - good quick friendly service. Started off with Octopus a la Plancha Becerrita (very good), Jamon Croquettes (very good) and the Charcuteria Board - Duck Liver Mousse was the star of the board, make sure to try with the Sherry gelatin and the house made mustard. Followed the small bites with the Radicchio Ensalada... More

This came as a recommendation from a native Portlandier so I figured it was worth a try. We had to wait for a table- its a popular place, even on a Thursday- so we went upstairs to "The Secret Society" and had drinks. The wait was well worth it! We tried several different small plates- the scallops were the favorite... More
