This was a fabulous place to stay for a bank holiday weekend and the food was OFF THE SCALE !! The kitchen door is open and you can see it's immaculate and yes we waited for a meal but it's all home cooked and presented in the most fabulous way! Could not thank them enough and we will definitely stay... More

Absolutely terrible food. Asked for a medium rare steak with nothing on it and it came laced in garlic butter and cooked to the point that it was tougher than the sole of my shoe, i couldn't even finish it as my jaw was aching. Mind you i did get a whole onion on my plate, not an exaggeration, they... More

Visit went from bad to worse. Hadn't reserved our table, said we had rang the wrong number until we rang it again and their phone rang. 1 hour and 45 minutes to receive main course despite restaurant nearly empty. Wrong drink given, duck over cooked and very rude owner/chef.

The best pub we have ever been in, meals are absolutely fantastic. It is immaculately clean with a greart rang of real ales. Have been here many times and always look forward to sheila's meals, my favorite is the black pudding and haggis with peppercorn sauce starter. Sheila is a 5 star chef and all of her food is excellent,... More

I don't know how they manage to serve such great food for the tea-time special prices. The service is always great, the staff are friendly, the chef is a treasure. We keep going back here time after time. Their sticky toffee pudding is the best I've ever had. It is extremely hot when served so I asked the waitress the... More

Another excellent Xmas lunch at this hotel today and many thanks to Wayside taxi's for pleasant prompt service and for not letting us down like Chevron did last year for our trip home.

This is a good place to get real ale. Only problem is the landlord, he's intrusive and can't leave you alone to enjoy your drink. You get wrong if you "sit in someone's seat" which makes it in comfortable and unwelcoming if you're from outside the area/not a regular. I've never stayed here so this is purely based on it...
