Was a place we made sure to go to EVERY YEAR. The last visit there, all the food was like out of a food service place or grocery store freezer. I.E. They USED TO have prime rib soup, yea, REAL PRIME RIB, in a tasty soup, worth the trip just for this. Last time it was mushy canned cheap meat,... More

Your typical fish place for tourists and locals alike. Very friendly staff. Lots of choices of seafood and the local Lake Erie Walleye fish was available.

Atmosphere very good ate out side. Service above average. Had walleye and perch dinner the price was not worth it. I can get a fish dinner in Pgh (where I live) and the fish hangs off the plate for $15. 3 small pieces of perch about the size of two fingers and the walleye more breading than fish also small.

We met for a small gathering and were anxious to enjoy a seafood dinner. The prices were high for the amount of food that we received and frankly, it was not up to my expectations. I had the lobster stuffed shrimp, but the stuffing looked and tasted just like Stovetop--I could not identify anything remotely looking like lobster. The shrimp... More

We went to Joe Roots recently with friends and family recently. The first thing we experienced was the drink order. I got something off the menu, a rum based drink that supposedly had at least 2 different rums in it as a martini. The service was slow, but Im forgiving with regards to time. Once it came, I immediately knew... More

We went here strictly for the Lake Perch, and were glad we did. We arrived around 3pm, so the place was mostly empty. Were seated right away and after discussing how much perch we'd get, decided to order 1 dinner and 1 perch and fries ($20 and $8). I got 2 pieces and my husband received 5 or 6. At... More

Large restaurant with good seafood and other choices, just a mile from the entrance to Presque Isle State Park. Prices are really good on the lunch menu, a bit higher on the full (dinner) menu. As it was not at all busy at lunch, we got pretty much immediate service. Be sure to read the story about Joe Root on... More
