Very good coffee. The shop is really nice with a lot of books and lot of colours. I would recommend this shop.

Great little place. The girlfriend and I enjoyed the ambiance and tranquility of the place. We ordered some coffees and sat in the back garden while we cooled off and caffeinated. We would definitely recommend this place and plan to stop by on our next visit.

Our favorite place in San Juan! This place has it all, very big variety of food, fresh, healthy and delicious. The coffee is great and the environment is so calm and nice. If you are in San Juan - this is a must!

Visited here several times during our stay. Even went during one of the many power outages and service was still awesome ;)

Awesome little café offering vegan treats that are better than non-vegan sweets-hard to believe but it's true-I am NOT A VEGAN. They have such delicious muffins and brownies and smoothies. I L-O-V-E- this place and not only for that-they have the largest book selection in San Juan I stayed browsing titles for an hour!

The food is less than average, very expensive and they add an automatic 10% tip (which wasn't deserved). Go elsewhere

We are not overpriced. We operate at a 50 percent food cost. Your meal includes a 17 percent tax. I also pay $600 a month in social security taxes for my staff. I pay $500 a month for electricity. Things cost money. By the way, everything I serve is at least three times as expensive in your native country. The... More

If you are in San Juan del Sur, stop by El Gato Negro for a delicious sandwich. The Vanderbilt sandwich fueled my surfing on several days while I was in town. Great spot!

We went to El Gato Negro for lunch and we liked the place. Their limonade is great and the service is pretty good. Music was just a little bit too loud. We liked the idea of a coffeeshop/bookstore in the same place

The El Gato Negro is a cute spot, with an array of books you can buy, brand new or used. I found the used books to be quite pricey though. The service was mediocre, I felt more like an inconvenience then a costumer. But the coffees pretty good and the bagels are great!
