Five of us were looking for a place to eat after discovering the funicular to Certaldo Alto was shut down for the evening. La Trattoria Casalinga was the first place we came to. They happily took us in without a reservation. Excellent Tuscan food, very good local red wine, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. We will definitely go back... More

It is bigger then it seems at first sight. The welcome was very nice and it was no problem to find a table even with a wheelchair. We had Pici Mercantia, which was really really amazing and Spaghetti all'arrabbiata which was also very good. After that we were still a little hungry, so we had Lasagne each (it was not... More

We ate roasted beef, spaghetti with olive oil and vegetable soup. The beef was sliced 4 and it was good. When I saw the spaghetti, I was surprised. I was surprised because there was just white spaghetti noodles. We had to add olive oil and cheese by our self. But I really loved the spaghetti. And the vegetable soup was... More

Nothing to write home about. The best thing was the pasta. Family restaurant. Famous for the tomatoes soup. House wine and next door ice cream.

Our first day in Certalgo and we were able to find such a great restaurant. The food was great - home made - and the owners were friendly and helpful. The wine was top of the line and our dinner could not have been better.

Small, but nice "Cucina Toscana Tipica" Food was fantastic, like home made. It was realy home made foods. Old lady prepared all foods in kitchen "live" we could see how she worked and how much very positive energy bring to the all foods. Thanks for good dinner. I can highly recommend to see and try this restaurant.

My girlfriend and I had an excellent meal here. It was recommended to us by two different sources. I had a beef chop sliced with rocket and cheese. Simple Tuscan "caveman" dining with no more than 3 ingredients but it tasted very good. My girlfriend had spinach and ricotta ravioli with sage butter sauce which was very tasty. Dessert was... The restaurant was totally booked out and we were a walk in... so 20 mins later we were seated. Very traditional food but that is what I wanted, it is home style family cooking. I ordered the ribolita (soup) which was thicker than I expected and very hearty, I could have stopped at this dish and been full... however, I... More
