We have just had a short break in Hebden Bridge and visited this tea room twice. The first time we had a snack meal plus a home made scone both of which were excellent. The second visit we had a main meal we both chose the lambs liver - it was superb. The staff are very friendly and the service... More

Tea was great but the scones were not - very large and served warm ( we were not asked and did not expect warm) which meant that the already very soft butter pats were soaked into the scone and this is not how l like them - why were we not asked hot or cold? I also like a bit... More

Dear Reviewer Thank you for taking the time to post a review following your recent visit to Watergate Tea Rooms. I am sorry that you had a disappointing experience. Our large scones are generally very popular. They are usually served warm and I regret that we were not aware that you would have preferred cold butter which could easily have... More

Stopped here for morning tea. Would recommend the Earl Grey tea loaf. Great views of the river and the mill wheel with lots of local history information around the cafe.

Have visited here many times, for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea, and more recently the tapas evenings that they have introduced. Always good, no matter what and beautifully situated next to the stream. Was one of our mums favourites

A day out in Hebden was needing a brew stop. We had our wheelchair bound foster child with us, and the easy access to the riverside seating area at the back of this place made it perfect. It was here, sat adjacent to the babbling brook, under rustling trees, drinking a nice coffee that makes you realise that the simplest... More

We go to Hebden Bridge three or four times a year and always go to the Watergate Tea Rooms for a late light lunch, I usually have a panini and the wife usually has a baguette followed by a wonderful big cream scone. The food is always delicious and well presented and the staff have always been friendly and helpful.... More

We queued patiently whilst the waitress got our table ready only for it to be offered to the couple waiting behind us in the queue....not a good start and the waitress apologised. A prawn sandwich and a bacon Brie and cranberry panini. Both served with a touch of side salad and both very nice. One tea and one "warm" hot... More

Dear Reviewer Thank you for taking the time to post a review following your visit on what turned out to be an extremely busy day. It was very unfortunate that you were denied the first table that became free when you were queueing and I can only repeat the apology you were offered at the time. Your comment about one... More

I have tried a few of the cafes/tea shops in Hebden Bridge and found this one to be the best out of them all. We had to wait a while for service. There was no explanation if anyone was going to serve us or if we had to order at the front. Which was the only downpoint. Everything else, including... More

We arrived after many other cafes had closed for the day. Friendly greeting and service. Cheesy croissant ( warmed to order ), good Cappu' with froth and orange juice made from oranges - lovely. Clean, comfortable & friendly service. Good loo too! Recommend.

Lovely tea rooms where we had brunch but we were on the upper floor where you tend to get forgotten about. They are busy (which is good) but service could be a little bit quicker.
