We really enjoyed our stay at the Lamb last week, the rooms were immaculate, crisp white sheets, fluffy towels, comfy bed, large tv, an extra mirror in fact everything we would need. Breakfast was lovely, warm crisp toast from hand sliced bread, non of your soggy ready sliced bread here. We has dinner in the restaurant which did not disappoint,... More

The food was average with quite limited choice. Sunday lunch consisted of the ubiquitous roasts, Angus rump, roast pork loin, half a chicken or a nut roast. We opted for lighter fare however, the other vegetarian option was listed as Butternut squash, roasted garlic and artichoke crisps what was delivered turned out to be Risotto with a tiny sprinkling of... We were staying opposite at The Angel and decided to pay a visit. Although quite quaint I found the staff to be indifferent and more interested in chatting amongst themselves. Perhaps it was just a bad day but I would not rush back.

I had booked a table for 6 for lunch beside the fire - when we got there no table had been reserved and the staff were less than helpful in finding a suitable table. The meal was fine and the atmosphere was poor, but the place was quite busy. One of our party is wheelchair bound (can not walk at... More

We ate here twice in recent months and were disappointed on both occasions. Once to celebrate our wedding anniversary and another time at the suggestion of friends to meet for a Sunday roast. The anniversary meal was not bad, but far from special and too expensive for what we experienced. We did enjoy the cozy dining rooms inside, however, and... More

Disappointing with more than one mistake in service. A shame because in the past it has been consistently good.

We booked a table for 2 for dinner. Upon arrival, although they had our booking in the diary they could only offer us a table for 4. Rather strange - we sat at the corner of a large table. We ordered 2 glasses of champagne. The first ones were flat and we sent them back. They replaced them without hesitation.... More

Stayed with friends and ate in restaurant last night. Lovely welcome, cosy comfortable rooms with walk in shower. Great food - not an extensive menu but what we had was tasty. Breakfast good and everything you would want.

Our fantastic team of chefs are taking the food at The Lamb to the next level. We offer beautifully cooked seasonal dishes throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. With a menu full of freshly prepared works of art using some locally sourced produce you will not find a better offering in the area. Our produce is delivered daily, our fish comes from M & J seafood and our meat is sourced from around the UK from Solent butchers. The Lamb smoke their own fish, bake their own bread and make their own pasta. From delicious traditional British meals to a handful of dishes from different origins you are sure to find a dish to suit all tastes and appetite. Our delightfully lighter menu option in the bar area includes a sandwiches selection and boards during the day and home-made bar snacks with scrumptious scotch eggs and sausage rolls to have with a pint of Youngs or glass of wine. We serve food in our dining room and bar,we can accommodate whatever occasion you would like to share with us. Small social gatherings, business lunches or family feasts. But who needs an excuse to treat yourself, just drop by and simply enjoy a relaxing evening and let us make any day a special occasion. We have 2 private dining rooms The Meddling Pike which has its own bar and can seat up to 12 people and The Wylye Duck has its own private terrace and can accommodate up to 45 for a buffet and 30 people seated. Sunday's are something we like to shout about and our Sunday roasts are highly popular with locals and families. So please ensure you book in advance. We offer Children's meals including Sunday roasts the little ones can join in the Sunday fun.
