I have visited this place on numerous occasions over the years. It does not let one down. It is a bit pricey but for a treat this is acceptable.

I thought this would be a high quality tearooms, but it is quite large with the tables very close together, we were greeted and seated immediately on entering but then waited an age for our order to be taken. We just ordered a pot of tea for two and expected it to be high end tea for the price they... More

Visited for lunch. Had very tasty soup in a larger quantity than expected. Toasted tea cakes and coffee were delightful. Helpful and pleasant staff. A wide assortment of cakes but resisted the temptation.

The Polly Tearooms are a quintessential English establishment, right? Absolutely not! There is no excuse whatsoever to palm customers off with teabags when there are a multitude of loose tea's available which are easy to keep and have a long shelf life. I ordered a Lapsang Souchong Tea which was awful. When I lifted the lid off the teapot (which... More

Having spent my entire adult life eating in up market tea rooms, I can say with certainty that this particular tea room is the finest establishment I have ever graced with my presence. As I sat and enjoyed my humble hotpot I watch the staff expertly turn tables with the sort of grace and expertise that one only finds in... More

from the outside and the name it looked as if it should be just the old fashioned tea shop so we ventured in. A table for two was found and menus given - that's when the service stopped really. Eventually someone came and took our order, 15 mins later realised we had no drinks so came across and said it... More

I used to hold this establishment in high esteem. But no more. We four sat at recently vacated table. What followed is a management issue since the poor waiter didn't have a clue! The table was not cleaned down & reset, consequently: We had to ask for teaspoons after the tea had been served. We had to ask for knives... More

I used to visit this place for tea on boarding school exeats so was excited to be visiting for breakfast. I visited with my daughter and we were looking forward to some old fashioned quality! I ordered tea with soya milk and porridge with toasted hazelnuts and maple syrup/honey (can't remember). Whilst we were waiting for our food I noticed... More
