My wife and I have a 'go to' restaurant for a special occasion - A Cena just on the Twickenham side of Richmond Bridge. The regularly changed menu features Italian dishes cooked and presented in a very attractive manner and the staff are friendly and attentive. We dined there on my birthday and, as usual, it did not disappoint. Our... More

We come here for lunch or dinner often, and it never fails to disappoint. Its pricepoint is very good considering the amazing quality of the food. I would particularly recommend the balsamic/Parmesan salad (not sure of its exact name) and the risotto. Though the complimentary bread is also the stuff of dreams!

We haven't been to A Cena for a few years. The food was always very good and the service excellent. Some things never change. We didn't have starters but did have a bottle of Prossecco, a large glass of good wine each, main courses of: Rib Eye steak, hake, lamb and pork chop. All came with appropriate accompanying items, them... More

We'd heard so much about this place- admittedly from friends who'd visited many months/ years previously and really rated it- so our expectations were high and we booked it for a special occasion. Briefly- uninterested staff and bland food (celeriac and radish salad- boring, duck main course- potatoes best thing about it, mackerel salad-tasteless, steak- cold with poor chips). There... More

I love dinner here but it's also a good place to stop for a drink. The Grappa is excellent. Very good food and great staff. Not the cheapest night out but well worth a special trip.

Having an Italian name, and describing menu dishes with Italian words, does not make you an Italian restaurant. I had a risotto which was cooked to oblivion. Rice in risotto should be al dente, this had obviously been cooked earlier in the day and then left warming on the top of the stove. The result was a soggy mass where... More

We eat here fairly regularly and the food is a good as anywhere we have eaten. Even two star restaurants and London and Europe. Service is always good and cheerful and the waiter remembered how my wife liked her duck cooked after more than a month between visits.

My husband and I came here for dinner on a Monday evening so it was fairly quiet but still had a nice ambiance. The food was delicious - I had the risotto followed by the duck and my husband had the fusilli and then the steak. Definitely recommend! We'll be back again soon :-)

I used to eat here pretty regularly but after a gap of a few months, returned for a birthday dinner. I don't know if the ownership had changed since I was last there, but the once very obvious Italian touches, from the staff to the quality of food and drinks, appear to have all gone. Its still an Italian restaurant,... More

Have been meaning to go to A Cena for years, and it took a visit from friends to finally prompt me to book a table. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, services was not rushed and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The cornish sardines were amazing, not a bone in sight as was the risotto to start. Followed... More
