A little village pub with a great menu. The food is really well made and quality. They have a new winter menu and the braised pig cheeks with horseradish mash is fabulous. Seriously. The meat melts in your mouth, mash and jus are a perfect...accompaniment. Absolutely delicious. I had the chowder too which was enormous and full of fish, scallops and mussels. My daughter had a veggie option of the wild mushroom bourguignon which was huge again and had a beautiful rich full flavour. Husband had the reliable giant bowl of mussels. Clean fresh perfectly cooked. Highly recommend, lovely staff. Haven’t left a tripadvisor review before and now realise I could have posted photos! Darn it, too late, ate it all….More

We were staying in the area and decided to visit the nearby recently refurbished Red River Inn for Sunday lunch. My wife had the roast beef which looked great and was excellent. My head was turned by Chicken Supreme, Creole Creamy sauce and green chilli...mash with a 20 min.wait time for cooking. It was well worth the wait, looked great, tasted even better and was an absolutely excellent meal if you like a little bit of spice like I do. They're dog friendly, have an excellent choice of ales, ciders, wines & sprits and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We visit this area periodically and will definitely have a return visit to the Red River Inn when next in the area.More

Visited Red River Inn as a party of four. Great starters, particularly the haloumi and the calamari. Mains were superb for a Sunday roast; two of us had the roast beef with plenty of roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips, one had the nutroast and one...had the seafood chowder. All were great ( although the nutroast was perhaps a wee bit too spicy!). Drinks were good also and reasonably priced; the Red River session ale was particularly good as was the wine list. We finished with a treacle tart which was lovely! Prices were really good, not cheap but we felt excellent value for money. The staff were all friendly and down-to-earth, genuine not forced.., Anyway, well worth a visit if you’re in the area.More

We dined here this evening (18/10/21) we sat by the fire which was so cosy and lovely. We ordered starters, pig cheeks and crab cakes. Both amazing! Full of flavour and presented beautifully. The mains were also superb, lamb cooked perfectly pink and the chicken...was so moist and delicious. The staff were so attentive and friendly. Lauren and miya made us feel very welcome and we can’t wait to come back again soon to try more of the menu. Keep up the great work team! 😊More

As far as roasts go, quality was great. Needed a little more gravy but I can’t be too picky. Red cabbage was almost as good as we do at home. Parsnips had great flavour.

We had two suppers here and enjoyed both our evenings. The staff were very friendly and efficient and it had a nice atmosphere. The food was good, typical pub grub but very enjoyable. Unpretentious and well worth a visit.

Excellent take away food. We ordered take away as we were staying in a holiday cottage across the road. Fish and Chips were amazing. The burger and chips were equally as good. Fantastic portions. Just perfect.

Absolutely fantastic food - especially the mussels - kudos to the chef. The homemade burger and the fish and chips were also very good. The pub is very well presented and has a lovely atmosphere.
