Having just visited the seal sanctuary. We had all worked up an appetite. The swan is just around the corner and was nice and quite. A wide range of beers on tap and an ample selection of food on the menu. Locally produced sausages was for me and soup for the Mises. While they do cater for the young ones... More

Fantastic proper country pub, with good mix of locals and visitors, with a welcoming log burner on a chilly night. Food was great, we had Brie and bacon burger, beef lasagna, steak and beef and blue cheese pie, along with chips, garlic bread and onion rings that my OH managed to almost singularly demolish by himself for a starter, which... Only eaten there, and food is fresh and very good value. Would recommend. Now go regularly every month because its so good. In summer, location is perfection, and ideal for visiting Gweek and seeing the Seal Sanctuary. Having a large car park at the rear is a real bonus.

A great local welcoming pub, the menu is good, food is tasty. Staff are approachable and attentive. Great place for a quick beverage or a night of cards with friends. Great euchre team and opportunities to play board games while you relax and wait for food. Lovely log fire on these cold winter nights. B.Kemp

We stayed here for one night having read some good reviews. We were not disappointed at all. From the moment we arrived the Landlord was welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were simple but clean with a kettle for tea or coffee, always a nice touch. The food was good pub food, served hot and plentiful by very pleasant staff and... More

My husband and I went to this pub for the first time this autumn, it is not far from our place in Port Navas. We returned twice within a week because we liked it so much. Great food, friendly and a very pleasant ambiance. Right in the heart of the village of Gweek it has a classic pub feel to... More

We initially called in here for a drink but returned on two occasions for an evening meal during our two week stay in Cornwall. Both the food and the service were excellent and reasonably priced.

Located next to the popular National Seal Sanctuary in the picturesque village of Gweek near Helston. We are in the heart of "Poldark" country and are close to some of the beaches used in the filming of the new and old TV series. Church Cove and Gunwallow on The Lizard are a short distance away and these can be seen in some of the night-time ship wrecking scenes. We offer a wide selection of Cornish real ales including Sharps Doom Bar, Tribute, Bass and Betty Stogs along side another guest ales. The restaurant area has been decorated to give a warm and welcoming atmosphere and we offer a home cooked menu from the blackboards. Every week we serve traditional Sunday lunches which are proving extremely popular - booking is advisable.
