Came for dinner on Christmas day and didn't know what to expect....it was fab, Turkey was gorgeous, roast potatoes were great (and I'm fussy on roasters) the veg was perfectly cooked and the gravy was lush. Massive respect to the landlord and lady for not...ripping off customers because of the occasion and will defo be back for another carvery.More

Went this morning for their first opening of carvery, the food was absolutely phonominal. They offered a selection of 3 meats and the vegetables went down a treat. Would highly recommend for families, friends & couples who are looking for a lovely meal out!

Just demolished the special offer Curry for their Quiz Night. On this occasion I plumped for the Chicken Jalfrezi and Chips. The spice level was perfect for my discerning palette. Fantastic value for money with a Naan and Poppadoms thrown into the mix. This was...all washed down with a perfectly poured pint of Jail Ale which complemented the spiciness of the curry to a tee. If you’re in the area on a Monday night then I can’t recommend enough popping in for a delicious, reasonably priced curry.More

Was at the bus stop over the road and as just missed one decided to drop in the recently refurbished Mount Ambrose Inn. First thing you notice is how fresh and light the place looks. Staff are very friendly and efficient. This is now a...Celtic Brewery pub, however the choice of beer was restricted on this occasion as they only had their stronger Halloween range on. That withstanding, the beer was bright and well kept. So, next time we'll make sure we're not in such a rush, because I definitely want to go back and give it a proper try.More

Wow! I've eaten in some of the best restaurants in the UK and the lamb Shank is without a doubt the best I've ever had, amazing gravy. Brilliant, well done chef.
