We have had fish and chips here many times and it is always great. This time we had snapper which was cooked to perfection, two generous fillets per serve, white, juicy flakes and so fresh! The chips were great too. Worth the drive from Newcastle to enjoy fish at its best. We love it. So nice too to be able... More

I eat here on a regular basis, love the fish and chips and burgers and you can add your own chicken salt and sauce to your preference. All other fish and chip shops in hawks nest and tea gardens have gone down hill but this one is still fantastic. Thanks keep up the great work Hook & Cook

We bought some nice and reasonably priced fish and chips for takeaway to eat watching the boats going up and down the river. Generous portions and not oily or greasy. Very busy - everything cooked to order.

Incredible fish and chips. Generous serves, the fish (often local) is beautifully cooked and the chips are fantastic. Well worth the detour from the highway.

Food has become terrible of late, maybe a new owner? Having to wait quite a while after ordering. Now go to Mumms, great takeaway and good value for money.

They had a good range of fresh seafood and good prices. The location by the river is beautiful with indoor seating and benches along the river.

Between us we tried snapper, calamari, whiting and fish and chips which turned out to be ling. It was all delicious and my portion of fish and chips had two big pieces of fish and plenty of chips. Help yourself area was excellent with salt, vinegars, lemon, tomato sauce etc. The other choices were burgers and they had a huge... More

I've been here a few times and it's great. Their food is fresh and their burgers are really good - I always feels slightly nostalgic eating their food, it reminds me of my childhood. Their potato scallops are also worth a try

Best fish and chip I ever had! Bit pricey, and small in quantity. But well worth it. Located at a peaceful and beautiful riverside area, shop is clean and tidy. Highly recommended!

Brilliant ; absolutely first class. We just needed a good old fashioned 'eat out' by the waterfront and this was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had, including Rick Steins, in England. Sitting out under some shade, watching the boats, we all agreed this was the best.
