This is the best quality and best service restaurant in Narooma. Ask for a window table and get there early for stunning views

A highly rated, overpriced restaurant that didn't deliver. I ordered an entree sized potato gnocchi and received mushy semolina based gnocchi (around 10 pieces) with the wrong sauce (however sauce was passable). Hubby ordered lamb shoulder with beetroot risotto. Risotto lacked flavour and was watery, portion of lamb was child-size and there was no sauce (Manu would not be happy!)... More

We ate at this restaurant a few years ago and the food was excellent. But this time around the food was awful. It seemed very "try hard".

We were pleasantly surprised - even delighted - by the high standard of this little restaurant. The meal was easily the equivalent of an up-market restaurant in a capital city. The room service option was welcome, and we particularly appreciated the dessert being delivered half an hour or so later, to ensure the amazing in-house created ice-cream arrived in perfect... Beautiful experience - soft lighting, live dining music courtesy of the resident 'piano man', views of the harbour from the ceiling to floor windows, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient service, beautifully presented and tasty food combined together to ensure a great dining experience. Although my partner said that the tuna entree was lacking flavour it was nicely presenting. He's main meal... More

Didn't look like much from the outside but inside had old world charm. Calamari entree was fine. Mullenderee Farm eye fillet, Termeil mushroom etc as main - very nicely cooked, very tender. Mushroom was tasty. The ABC Tilba Cheese board consisting of Aged Cheddar, 3 Udders Brie, Super Blue all made locally was excellent. A nice Shiraz heled the eye... More

Before anything else if you're a mussel fan you need to try the mussels. They come from Eden and are plump and delicious. The view is beautiful as the restaurant sits on a point. Staff were great. Attentive but not intrusive. Prices were very reasonable.

A family group including the children had a very enjoyable evening . They catered for the kids and they thoroughly enjoyed their dinner. A lovely ambience with stunning ocean views in the distance . Pianist playing in the background was very pleasant. I had a variety of local oysters for entree...superb! Smoked lamb on a bed of beetroot mash was... More

This is one of the better restaurants in the region. Fresh fish, local steaks and cooked to perfection. We will, certainly eat at the Whale restaurant next time we are in Narooma.

Excellent high quality local produce and stunning ocean views. The serving sizes are just right - so you can have entree, main and desert. Try them all! Staff knowledgeable and friendly.
