This place has SO much potential, but it's just not happening. Decor, furniture and carpeting look and (smell) like nothing's changed since Slapshot was filmed in Johnstown. Put some money into it, even if just replacing the carpeting and old lighting to brighten and freshen it up. Also, I've been there 4 times in 2 years. Initially it was pretty... More

Food is always good, somewhat overpriced, but good. I just wish the owners would update the restaurant. The tables and chairs are very old, carpeting very old, water marks on ceiling the last time I was there. Definitely needs updating.

Service was excellent and the food is some of the best in Central Pennsylvania. Any dish stuffed with crab meat is a recommendation! Had the stuffed trout on this visit and the skin of the trout was nice and crunchy with a delicious flavor. The staff kept the salad bar topped off and very clean.

In a nutshell: Great lamb chops served "old school" with mint jelly (which I am a fan of) and good steaks. Fish is just ok. Nice salad bar and good service. Its fairly typical for Johnstown so you will get what you expect/no surprises.

The best thing ever to happen to Johnstown dining is when Jim moved his operation to the old Professors Inn. Always willing to bend over backwards for his customers, demanding on only the freshest of ingredents, and running his kitchen like a director of a symphony, its no wonder why they just keep coming back for more !

This place has gained a reputation as being THE place for older couples wanting to celebrate something to go for a fancy dinner, but I don't think it really deserves all the hype. When we went, food was running low in the buffet, and the wedding soup, which I found overpowered by the vast amount of spinach compared to meat... More

We went there on a recommendation of a neighbor and were very disappointed. The seafood was "supposed" to be fresh, but the seafood platter had mostly frozen seafood...what a disappointment. The filet mignon was not that good. Had no flavor and wasn't as tender as it should have been. Their biggest asset was the salad bar which was pretty good.... More

Stopped in for Sunday dinner and wow! So delicious! Has to be the best dining in Johnstown. The stuffed lobster tail was devine and the crabmeat is delicious.

We haven't eaten at Surf & Turf for a very long time and it didn't disappoint. The meals were fantastic as I remember. Wonderful atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great place to eat.
