Great spot in Milford, super quaint with great food. It has a wide variety of offerings, with kind of a French/Old school/Vietnamese menu. We had the Mediterranean platter with duck pate and brie with bread, grapes and more (I could easily eat this for lunch...More

This is our second visit here and it was spot on again. We are vegetarians and although the menu is varied to please all diets, they have a big vegetarian selection which we appreciate. The restaurant was crowded both visits, at lunchtime, but the waitstaff...More

After visiting the Grey Towers, my wife and I decided to grab a mid day lunch. We stopped in Milford, checked out the water wheel and went to the cafe. When we walked inside, there was no hostess. One of the servers asked, "just the...More

I have come to the Waterwheel twice now for breakfast and each time the service has been awesome, and the food consistently good. My two go-to breakfasts have been eggs with bacon and a side of home fries and the French toast. Also, if you...More

This is a great little restaurant to have lunch at. We had the softshell crab wrap, country ham with melted brie on brioche and the steak sandwich. All were very tasty. The restaurant is on the site of an old mill that still works. Very...More

Love this place! Quaint, historic and rustic restaurant with a display of the actual Waterwheel in view! Great food and friendly staff & owner. However, probably want to avoid Mothers Day weekend. Like most places, they are crowded overbooked and some stress involved because of...More

We didn't actually eat in the cafe although we walked around at the little shops. We went to see the working water wheel, it was amazing. We love to go to working Mills, this wheel is the largest wheel I have ever seen. It was...More

Description
Situated on the Sawkill Creek, in Milford, PA the Waterwheel Café, Bakery & Bar was started in April of 1989 in a restored 19th century water-powered mill, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally built in the early 1800's this lively example of American history is now in action and its doors are open to the public. Water rushes over the three-story high water-wheel, driving a series of shafts, gears, pulleys and belts that once powered the stones & grain-milling equipment, all visible through the glass walls of the Café & Bar. Starting at first as a bakery & lunch café the Waterwheel has grown into a full scale restaurant, bakery and bar-serving breakfast & lunch daily with dinners being served Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings. Waterwheel's customers are comfortable in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The kitchen staff consistently prepares a fresh and flavorful eclectic menu that excites not only the palate, but the eye as well.
