We are so lucky to live so close to such a wonderful restaurant as Tastebuds! The menu is fantastic and always changing so you can try new tempting dishes. However, the owner brings back favorites so that you can savor things you love again. The...menu has something for everyone. We just introduced new friends to this restaurant and they loved it as much as we do! Go now and you will get to try their seasonal appetizer, wild mushroom strudel....it is like having dessert before dinner but you can still have dessert afterward, too! Now that’s what I call tickling your Tastebuds!!!More

We chose this cozy restaurant for my husband’s birthday celebration. The new space has free parking and easy access to the restaurant. We have always had delicious meals here — this time my deviled eggs were especially tasty. The server/owner is so much fun —...definitely part of the ambiance of the place. My only complaint is that we have had to wait too long more than once for the check to arrive. One more server or someone just dealing with the money would help.More

Small cozy place that has great food and reasonable prices. Service is a bit slow, but worth the wait

Have tried Taste Buds many times. Would love to love it. Food is great. But service is painfully slow. The owner does everything himself. If he would just hire the people he desperately needs, the restaurant would be packed all the time. "Penny wise dollar...foolish." He is a lovely man but just too cheap to hire enough help. Too bad. Great, reasonable BYOB restaurants are very rare.More

Good afternoon, Pearl. I wish you had written this review after your visit back in March as I can not recall the situation at this point. First time in my life I’ve been called cheap. My restaurant is staffed appropriately but there are occasional bumps,...More

A friend recommended we make reservations and try Tastebuds in New Hope. The only caveat was that they don't take credit cards and it was a BYOB. The BYOB is a nice incentive because the mark ups on liquor at other restaurants is huge. We...wondered if the food could be that good if it only took cash. NO WORRIES...the food was spectacular and the choices sublime. Each of us ordered something different. The quantity and quality was perfect as well as the service. This is a MUST GO restaurant....but hit the ATM first. :-)More

We've been to this restaurant several times, always a good experience. However, we dined there on July 13 and were somewhat disappointed. The food was still very good. However, the waiter/owner was not attentive. We waited quite a while for everything. It appears he was...flirting with some other patrons to our dismay. He should have been more attentive to all of his customers. There is much competition in the New Hope area. It will be quite a while before we return.More

Saturday night March 30, 2019 we met friends of ours from Pennsylvania at Tastebuds 352 W. Bridges Street New Hope,Pennsylvania for dinner. The restaurant is on the outskirts of new Hope with plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is very...plain inside, bare walls (no pictures or paintings), bare wood floor, and no acoustical ceiling tiles to deaden the noise. By the time we left The restaurant we were horse from trying to communicate with the guest at our table, as the noise in the restaurant was extremely loud. The two servers who were working paid little attention to the table once the orders were taken. They failed to stop by to fill water glasses check on additional drinks ask how the food was or if there was anything else that they could do to accommodate us Very poor service. We were in no hurry to eat but between the appetizer and the entrée it took forever. Three of us ordered salads, unfortunately they brought the entrée and had forgotten the salads. Brought the salads out after the entrée and asked if we still wanted them. The portions of food are similar to what you would expect in a French restaurant, small. There are too many restaurants in that area with much better food and service to keep us going back to Tastebuds. We gave it a try, but will not return.More

My dear friend suggested Tastebuds for my birthday dinner, and I'm so glad she did! We often seek out BYOB places and believe this gem, hidden in plain sight, will be our new 'go to place'. From the ease of parking, (several spots out front...and large lot in back) which is unique in New Hope, to John's (the owner) welcoming smile and excellent service, to the clean and soothing decor to the gorgeously presented, hot and delicious food, not a foot fault nor flaw. Do not be put off by the fact that Tastebuds is in a small strip mall. This is what affords it ample parking and once inside the transformation to a fine dining experience with tasteful decor of white tablecloths, neutral paint, soft music and chic light fixtures belies its unassuming exterior. We arrived separately and each of us was welcomed warmly by John. We had a reservation and were promptly seated at a lovely table by the front window. We were not rushed to choose our meal and selected the wild mushroom strudel to share; my friend a fish dish from the main menu of 25th anniversary favorites and I a Thai chicken dish from the evening additions. John arrived with a warm, luscious amuse bouche that was made of spaghetti squash, ricotta, chili flakes and mint. Unexpected and delicious! Next came the mushroom strudel, perfect size for us to share, really silken and again beautiful to the eye and the pallet. I cannot recall which fish dish (may have been cod) my friend had but only because I was so taken with my chicken. I do know she loved hers because she is particular about her fish and was definitely complimentary throughout. As for my Thai chicken, it came piping hot, the chicken was moist, the rice lovely and the slender green beans to the perfect doneness. While it sounds like a simple dish, the flavor and sauce had the perfect balance of spice/heat to rich and savory. Also, truly delicious. The courses came with a nice cadence, neither rushed nor slow, John was attentive without being intrusive and we were able to have a nice catch up, sipping our wine and having a wonderful meal. We were too full for dessert though they sounded amazing, but John sent us home with a slice of coffee cake to enjoy in the morning. What a lovely evening thanks to Tastebuds. We look forward to returning soon!More

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner at Tastebuds. We had the beets with pistachios for an appetizer. Very good. For dinner I had the Mahi Mahi with sugar snap peas. It was a nice sized portion with a delicious sauce on top. My husband...had duck that was in a sauce that had a tasty chocolate flavoring, different than any other. Dessert was a raspberry sauce on cheesecake. The ambiance was clean and modern. Service was a bit slow for us, although those that came after we did seemed to be served at a reasonable rate. We will return on our next visit to New Hope.More
