Prices are expensive! Items are "different". The menu changes and the food is all local. Well...I'm sure all except for the tropical stuff! I had the pork and pistachio pate. It was OK. The server was very knowledgeable in the menu and friendly. The salad was not drenched in dressing, which was perfect! They gave out awesome bread! Nice atmosphere.... More

We dine at this fine restaurant 6/8 times yearly. This visit was special for us. First Walleye in season. They got the fish from Lake Erie fresh daily , simply grilled made perfect, so very good you better come fast. The best liver I ate before tonight was in Paris The Ritz hotel room service offered a whole roasted foie... More

Back in Pittsburgh for a reunion with long time friends, we couldn't imagine going anywhere else. This was out third visit and although we probably should try another place we can't do it. We had the racclette with kimchi, the bluefish, and goat cheese and spicy pepper jelly for starters. Our entrees, vegetarian, fish and steak were fabulous. I've never... More

We went to Legume for a one-week-late Valentine's Day dinner. The service from beginning to end was attentive and top notch. The food was also excellent. We started off with cocktails because they looked so interesting. I had a "New Pope" - it was made with applejack liquor but not too sweet or too strong - it was excellent. We... More

First class cooking using locally sourced ingredients presented with imagination and care. Servings are generous. Service was unobtrusive but attentive. Our reservation was necessary - this is a popular place, for good reason.

Owners Sarah and Trevett are champion of local farm for their dishes . They are so involved that they actually visited the Amish farmer and spend substantiate time with them to improved the quality of the organic chicken they are raising for the restaurant. Legume is a nice spacious place that preferred reservation . Their walk in bar is popular... More

Upon receiving numerous recommendations and only after carefully studying the reviews for Legume, I went ahead and made reservations for a Tuesday evening at 5:45pm. We were catching a show at 7:30pm in the area and thought this would be a nice spot to try. Mediocre appetizers and salads and the small portions didn't immediately deter me. However, the more... Had a terrific meal here -- everyone in my group enjoyed their food; only complaint was that the fish was a bit over cooked and dry. Elegant ambiance without being stuffy or formal

This restaurant was on my husband's "to go to" list nearly two years ago when we moved into the Pittsburgh area. I actually tried to make reservations at Legume a few times; but they couldn't accommodate us when we wanted to go. I was finally successful in booking a table for last night; we were celebrating our engagement anniversary. We... More
