We were two couples on a Saturday evening, and enjoyed a great meal in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We asked which appetizers she recommended and got a fabulous set of Pelmini (meat dumplings with sour cream) and short rib Caramelle pasta (named for the shape like wrapped candies). The Noodle Bowl and Scottish Salmon were the highlights, although tender smoked... More

I found her on a corner down in old North Side Where you bring your own wine and it tastes nothing like cherry cola See-O-L-A cola. She said the gazpacho was well worth a chance. I asked her name and in a Siberian voice she said, "Yelena" L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola, Ye ye ye Yelena Well, I'm... More

Lots of trendy restaurants in Pittsburgh right now which is a joy. What I liked about Lola is the authenticity of the food- European, including Russian. Pavlova for dessert - have not seen that on other Pittsburgh menus, and Pelmeni - never heard of it. A dumpling from Siberia (I thought they only had gulags in Siberia, not good food... More

I started with the pelmeni which is traditional Siberian dumplings filled with beef & lamb. It was very good. Next was a lamb dish with the consistency of pulled pork served over polenta. It was ok but I probably would not order it again. I like lamb a little on the medium rare side so the low and slow cooking... More

Fabulous, simply fabulous! We have dined here multiple times and every visit has been wonderful. Very personal dinning. Fresh, completely scratch/home made, unique european flair menu. The restaurant is small, usually only the owners working ( one cooking, one serving) but that is part of the charm. And a BYOB

We decided to try out this restaurant after doing a holiday house tour in the area. I'm not sure if it's usually opened for lunch/brunch, but it was this day so we went in. It's a cute little place and had a limited menu, but the food was excellent. My only complaint would be that there were no refills on... More

We went to Lola after reading the almost ecstatic reviews on Tripadvisior. The place is charming and intimate. The co-owner who waits the tables is very nice, gave us advice on an appetizer, something with pork belly which was delicious. Their version of caesar salad was also very good, but both of our entrees suffered from the meat being dry.... More

I've driven past Lola several times before, and finally my husband and I decided to go for our first anniversary. It is a lovely little place- everything is cooked to order, there's one waitress and one chef and all of our meals were delicious. It's BYOB and the corkage fee is very reasonable ($5 for either a six pack or... More

My brother in law was celebrating his 70th birthday and we traveled from out of state to the strip district to spend the weekend and get him away from home for a couple days. I had taken my parents (who live just outside of Pittsburgh) to Lola Bistro two years ago and they had enjoyed the restaurant very much, so... More
