Breakfast at Ritters is a trip back to your memories of those early morning diner visits after late nights....or just early mornings. The coffee is always hot, breakfast is always available and the service comes with a little sass. We had pancakes all-round with a variety of sides....the buckwheat cakes needed a little extra syrup as you would expect and... More

We went there for breakfast during lunch time and all the eggs dishes were cooked well. The omelette Florentine was excellent, filled with lots of spinach, mushrooms and provolone. We also ordered buckwheat pancakes and they were simply delish. The daily soup was the weak link but was quickly forgotten when the omelette arrived. The service was fair, maybe is... More

on a recent trip to Pittsburgh a breakfast stop was a must at Ritters. my travel companion grew up and went to school here at Pitt. Ritters was an old favorite 30 years ago so we couldn't resist a revisit. funny how some places ' just don't change. a quite dated interior ' for good or bad. in this case... More

There are trendier places like the Pamela's location, and the Deluca's in the Strip has history and is loved by tourists and Eat N Park is a famous local chain but Ritter's is one of those one off, one of a kind places in the hustle and bustle of east Pittsburgh, out there where Shadyside Hospital has many units and... It was an okay dining experience but as a visitor verses a local I don't see myself returning when we visit Pittsburgh again. The food was okay/passable but nothing like what I expected after reading the reviews for this place. If you're a southerner you will not be blown away by the fried green tomatoes as the locals seem to... More

We're rarely in the Shadyside-Bloomfield area anymore, so this was our 1st visit to Ritter's in 10+ years. We had dinner the other night, everything we had was very good. I had meatloaf (great), home fries (very good 'diner' potatoes) & a (fresh) salad...everything was above par. My husband had the honey dipped fried chicken (also great), fries (your typical... More

This is still the premiere diner in the city...equally good for breakfast or lunch, with the best home fries anywhere.

Some of our food was fantastic, some of it was average, but the diner atmosphere and our waitress made it a fun experience at the end of a long day. One warning: they only accept cash, but they have an ATM inside.

Great food, staff, and very accommodating. Parking can be nuts, so the earlier the better. Their potatoes, eggs are amazing
