My wife and I are a bit snobbish with our wings. I'm a diabetic so I eat a lot of them. The wings here are unique. They grill them out side and actually grill them. It adds a nice smoky flavor but they were pink inside. That can be dangerous. They also had a cheap chemical taste. We weren't fans.... More

Great service. Food was good; especially enjoyed the zucchini fries. Looking forward to visiting again.

This restaurant does in-house smoking of most of its meats. The reuben sandwich was excellent. My wife had the smoked dry-rubbed wings and really enjoyed them. The outside area is a great one on a pleasant night. Service was efficient and friendly.

After viewing their website I thought they just had bar food, but after walking out of another restaurant due to lack of service, we tried Sunny Jims. I'm so glad we did! We were seated immediately and had a great meal. My husband had the prime rib and I had the Pittsburgh Salad. Our food came out quickly and both... More

We stopped in at Sunny Jim's for a happy hour to enjoy some good food and company. Sunny Jim's has a long history on Camp Horne Road near Avalon. It has experienced its share of problems including floods and fire and has come around to renew itself. It was fairly empty when we arrived around 3:30 so finding a spot... More

This was always one of our favorite area restaurants. After an extended wait tonight, the food wasn't what we have come to expect. We learned that they have all new kitchen workers. This isn't the same place we visited in the past. All of the meals were a big let-down from the past.

In early December 2015 we visited Sunny Jim's--a place my brother in law had frequented as a college student. Had dinner there December 1,3, and 4! Surprisingly good food, the wings were made right there according to our server. I enjoyed my Cobb salad, which included French fries on top. Grilled fish was very good. Wings were great.

We've been frequenting Sunny Jim's for a few years now, and only had one "off" experience. The smoked wings are delicious! Wing sauce is spicy (even the mild!) and other offerings are fresh and delicious. It is a large restaurant, with a beautiful outdoor patio/seating area with a waterfall. They have a new manager, an energetic young man, who stops... More

Located on Camp Horne Road, Sunny Jim's offers casual dining with the ambiance of a local bar. It's a large place with indoor and outdoor seating, local sports on the many tvs, and a friendly, efficient staff. The food is fine, the beer is cold and the prices are reasonable.
