Feel bad giving three stars, but the meal was just okay. Service however was excellent. New decor was kind of plain, like newlyweds buying a new home and not having any money for furniture. Recipes seemed the same as old ownership. A better review would need hotter food at the buffet and some kind of decor to give the place... More

The Oakhurst is finally undergoing a decades-overdue renovation! Gone are the tattered tablecloths, the captain's chairs from the 1970's, the sad little gift shop, the stained ceiling tiles and most importantly, the moldy smell that permeated everything in the place. The new owners are obviously addressing these fundamentals and while i hope that they maintain the buffet, i think there's... More

You had the option of a menu or buffet. There was a bar area and also private meeting rooms, and a souvenir area/crafts area. Food was very basic and not outstanding. Service was ok.

Had not been to Oakhurst Tea Room for over 25 years.Suggested it to my best friend as it was always very good so we took the drive from Pittsburgh to Somerset for an early dinner. We arrived around 3pm to find the lot empty but went inside and was informed that the dinner buffet began at 4 so we could order... Buffet food was tasteless, cold & questionable as to what was being served. Some items you would have no idea what they were as nothing was labeled. When in line constantly heard remarks from patrons as to "What is this?" when looking at certain items. Response was" questionable stew" from others in line with a laugh while spooning thru the mess... More

Although the idea is there to have a good variety of food for low cost, I think the key to coming here is timing. I arrived about an hour before closing and the turkey roast was rather dry. I was able to make a meal of mashed potatoes and bread and a little sausage, but overall the food was not... More

What a huge disappointment! Gordon Ramsey where are you!!! Seriously, this was my moms favorite place to go in the mountains. Haven't been in 20+ years. We got the Sunday Brunch and the roast, the potatoes and the sauerkraut and pork weren't bad. The chicken gravy was yellow and salty, the salad choices were ok overall the desserts were fine... The Buffet on Friday with crab legs, peel'n'eat shrimp at 28.00, I went with without the seafood aspect. There were batter fried shrimp and other tasty buffet foods that were good for 13.95. Tea was fresh brewed and was delicious. Overall was a good experience. Our server was excellent and I loved her thoughtful nature! Thank you! We will be... More

After the build up our tour guide gave us about the Oakhurst Tearoom I was expecting much better quality. The beef was very tough and the vegetables were poorly seasoned and overcooked, even the desert bar had very few choices as items were not replaced once the first serving was gone. The salad bar was the best part. Even for... More

Prices are reasonable and buffet has nice choices including chicken, ham, mashed potatoes, noodles, tortellini, salad and desserts to name a few. There is a nice gift shop here selling a variety of items. History of this restaurant is interesting as men used to gather here to drink alcohol disguised as tea served in tea pots. Tea pots are displayed... More
