Yard of Ale, it’s Miles better than the rest !!!!

So, been on business 3 times to East Stroudsburg, and this place is head and shoulders above any other bar in the area. There’s normally something going on most nights, ie Quiz, open mic night for singers, musicians etc…,, so it’s usually a good relaxed atmosphere. The other plus points are a good selection of beers and the food is most definitely the best “home” cooked food about. I absolutely love the Chicken Contadina, it’s tasty and very filling, d my go to meal. The waitresses can’t do enough fir you and are very friendly and polite etc…., the bay problem I’ve had is I don’t think it’s open on a Monday and possibly a Tuesday, oh I think the kitchen is open till 10pm on a week night and possibly later on a weekend. So go you won’t be disappointed 👍🏼 I doubt I’ll ever come back to East Stroudsburg and tbh I’ll miss this place.

Burgers, Apps & Micro Brews!

Went here around the holidays after having not visited for a while. Appetizers were great,burgers were amazing, and if you're undecided what micro brew to try, I suggest a flight to sample some favorites. Despite it being crazy busy (with a huge party there as well), service was pretty quick.

Good food, but they need more help.

In addition to tending bar, the bartender was waiting tables, seating customers, and taking orders. In there words, she was extremely busy. I ordered the Yard Burger (with a blackbean burger) and my husband ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap. My burger tasted good, but could have been hotter (it was warm). My husband's wrap could have had more hot sauce, he said it wasn't very spicy. For how busy the bartender/waitress was, she tried to be attentive. The owner was in the restaurant and was very friendly, but could have helped out more. Overall, though, it was good.

Not just good beer

Friends wanted to go here for lunch, but it seemed no one under 30 years old was in the restaurant. We went in and were positively surprised at the great menu of food, all prepared well. Great selection of micro brews. More older adults came in after we did. I recommend the fish sandwich (so much better than anything i have had before). Each meal came with a small basket of freshly cooked potato chips.

We went here hoping for a little local flavor. The food was good but apart from the burgers, the portions were very small. I got the arugula salad. It was excellent but more of a side salad than an entrée. Two of my kids ordered noodles off the kids menu. They each got about a cup of noodles or less, and it didn’t come with any sides. It would not be enough food for a child much older than 4. My husband ordered a burger and my son got a burger off the kids menu. My husband‘s burger did not come with any veggies and had the same amount of fries as my son‘s burger! Within an hour, everyone was hungry again.

Great food and drinks in downtown Stroudsburg

My girlfriend and I went up for a weekend visit to Bushkill Falls and the Delaware Water Gap. We found this place by walking down the street. There are a few pubs close together on this street but this one is by far the best. It is owned by a very gregarious Irishman named Barry who took us on a tour of the establishment and told us the history of his family and how he ended up in the U.S. It wasn't finished yet, but he was clearly very proud of it! We like it so much we came back a second time before we left town. The first time I had the cod sandwich and the second time we both had the Thai lettuce wraps. Both are highly recommended. The beer taps were excellent and rotating, so I expect that there will be new brews to try when we return (and we will)! The bartender even made a special martini for my girlfriend based on the description of what one had tasted like at another place, though she did not know the name.

Made an October visit to downtown Stroudsburg to get a last good ride out of the Vette and hopefully get some food and drink at Yard of Ale while also promoting other local small businesses. The ride was worth it. The weather was awesome. The people of Stroudsburg so friendly. We walked into Yard of Ale and had to wait a bit. No complaints here. Especially after finding out 185Sunshine was the Hostess, the Waitress, the Barkeep, and was on clean up. She is a saint. Her calm and witty attitude, her relaxing time, her personality, and her continued engagement with the customers made it feel as if there were multiple hers actually there. The food was great. Bistro style. The drinks were cold n fresh. This is a must stop. Be kind and be patient and be nice to 185 Sunshine.

Excellent choice

This was an excellent choice for lunch. We sat at the bar; the bartender Colleen was great. The Alagash White was a great beer choice. All the food was delicious--tomato soup, the chicken Cali salad, and the ribeye cheesesteak. The bread for the cheesesteak came from Amoroso's Bakery in Philadelphia, That is THE bread to use! The homemade chips were done just right. So many places overcook their hommade chips, but these were perfect. If we lived near here, this might become our regular hangout.

Don’t do it

Sat with friend for over 45 minutes after ordering. Only one other group of 3 outside in the whole establishment. Ignored. When asked what the issue was with food delivery, server dismissed us saying “I don’t work in the kitchen. We only have one cook.” We left. Don’t go to an establishment that is run by 21 year olds.

A Must Stop in Stroudsburg

The food was very good food and the service was excellent. They went to the kitchen to see if certain dishes were gluten free. The service was excellent and we'd consider that it was a good vale for the price paid. The place has great atmosphere too.

Bartender ignored me, walked out

Came in one Saturday afternoon (not that busy) and sat at the bar to grab a beer. A waiter handed me a beer menu to look over. The bartender walked past me a dozen times and never acknowledged me or even said “I’ll be w you in a minute”. I waited 10 minutes and still no acknowledgement from the bartender even though I was sitting at the bar w no drink! My menu was down so it was clear I was ready to place my order. Still nothing. Finally gave up and walked out. Unbelievable how a place can stay in business when their customers are Ignored. Unfortunately I can’t say anything about the food or drinks but the bar service was appalling.

Excellent Food And Drink, Great Service

I had wonderful service here on Wednesday and Thursday. The ribeye Philly Cheesesteak was very good.  The bartender, Ashara is warm and kind. We went back a second day to have a drink just to enjoy her warm presence, She is a tremendous asset to this business and her personality will attract customers. We were two seventy-one year old retirees who she made feel warm and welcomed. This bar/restaurant is highly recommended.

Great local place to eat!!!

Walked in was seated right away Food was delicious. We got the whiskey steak, burgers and pizza- everything was tasty. We got the mules flight and the beer flight and it was reasonably priced. Everyone was so nice. Great place. Glad we went and supported the local business on Main Street.

Good outdoor dining during COVID

Great menu and great beers. We had burgers and crab cakes with sweet potato fries. Yum! Service was OK. Our waiter was great but he was alone so there was a bit of waiting but we drank more! They had just recently reopened and some of the staff did not show up. I would go back.
