A bit delayed in this review as we were there in November. Many good restaurant choices in Charleston but Trattoria Lucca gets my vote for best overall experience. Quaint and relaxed, the ambiance was very nice. Derrick, our server, was pleasant & knowledgeable....excellent service. Food was fantastic. We had the tagliolini, pork and cheesecake. Highly recommend this restaurant and if... More

We enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant this past week. The food is excellent, service was friendly. The pasta is made fresh daily and served with quality fresh ingredients. My only regret is that it took us so long to finally try Trattoria Lucca. We are big fans of Coda de Pesce on IOP. Highly recommend both of these... More

We enjoyed this great restaurant with our family. We thought they served the freshest and best bread that we had in Charleston! We thought that the house-made pasta was fantastic! The waitstaff was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all the menu offerings.

We were excited try this very well respected restaurant. Love the atmosphere. Lovely and cozy inside. Friendly staff. We all were disappointed in our food. My beet appetizer was overpoweringly citrusy. All one note really. My daughters salad with hazelnuts tasted like Nutella. My husbands pasta was very lemony, almost to the point of overpowering . I found the waiter... More

Absolutely outstanding. Exceeded expectations. Italian to the core. Pasta made daily in house. Selective menu changed frequently. Imaginative, superbly cooked. Excellent collection of Italian wines, including reasonably priced ones. Well informed efficient service people. Lovely room with well-spaced tables with small bar and community table. A great experience in every way.

My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner here. But the restaurant is very small and was very crowded so the noise was somewhat of an issue. Our waiter was extremely attentive but I have to wonder if he had enjoyed a few drinks before coming to work. His speech was slurred and his eyes appeared glazed. He absolutely did... More

As a Charleston local I have tried most of the Italian restaurants here. Trattoria Lucca is the best. It's a bit pricey but worth it. It's a small place so you will most likely want reservations. The setting is romantic, perfect for a date night!

Dinner reservation Friday night at Trattoria Lucca Italian Restaurant. Very busy restaurant. Prompt seating for our reservation at 6pm. A little cold sitting by the windows and front door. Good intimate setting, can be a little on the noisy side. Wait staff are all very attentive. Food is excellent. Paste made in-house! Dairy free option available but some unavoidable (blue... More

The concierge at our hotel recommended Trattoria Lucca and shared his own personal favorite dishes. It is in a somewhat transitional residential neighborhood, but once you enter the door, you will be transported by the warm intimate lighting, a staff dedicated to assuring you are happy with every selection, and the variety of choices on the menu that changes daily.... It is an intimate neighborhood Italian restaurant with remarkable fresh pasta and menu that regularly is changed. The entrees are complex and beautifully designed. The wine list was small and wonderful and very reasonably priced. Our waiter did an excellent job of describing choices, and anticipated our wants. We are so glad to have discovered what will be a mainstay... More
