This is a small unprententious bustling café brimming with atmosphere, in contrast to the more formal resaurants of Charleston. We only had wine and a snack, but wished we had time to return. It's hard to believe that this cafe is ranked 90th in Tripadvisor given its unique place in the restaurant community.

Seems like everyone in Charleston calls this place Fast and French, and who are we to disagree. Stopped for our first breakfast in Charleston, and are glad we did. Coffee was french press, their special roast, which was a combination of a Central American and for some reason, Decaf Espresso. It was hot, strong and with endless refills, We had... More

It was a cold and wintry Saturday' but for brunch we got right in. We tried the lunch special which was a chicken salad croissant for my wife and a chocolate croissant for me with French press coffee. All was excellent. Service was a little spotty with the staff chit-chatting together a bit too much instead of keeping track of... More

A hidden gem. A perfect place for a delicious lunch. We chose the lunch that came with a very nice glass of French wine. Eating at the communal table was fun and we met several lovely local people.

This tiny eatery has been in Charleston forever and although --apparently still -- popular we had a very disappointing lunch during the year-end holidays. We waited for a counter space ( there are no tables) for 20 minutes, which is OK if the wait had been worth it. Once seated and given menus, we waited another 15 minutes before a... More

This cute little place was one of our best meals in Charleston. It's small and had a local feel to it even though I'm sure it was probably all tourists like us. We didn't try the daily lunch special but had various soups, sandwiches and salads, as well as wine. All were great and perfect size portions. My wife proclaimed... More

As a party of 6 we had a long cramped wait, but we all enjoyed our food very much and the prices were reasonable. The other family I was with was charged for an extra meal, but did not have time to go back and give the restaurant a chance to correct it. Your bill is brought and then you... More

We popped in here for a late lunch after arriving to Charleston. It set a very high bar for the rest of our trip! All of our dishes were excellent (soup of the day, croque monsiuer, special of the day, and a meat/cheese tray) The wine special was a great deal and the red and whites were both way better... More

Cute little cafe on Broad St. with French specialities. They have cosy little pod like seating and the wait staff is super friendly and attentive. We stopped in for an afternoon coffee that they serve in your very own French press. We ordered a Cafe Cream that was coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We also ordered the... More

This little bistro-type restaurant does not have a lot of seats- and it can be crowded at prime meal times (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner)- so you might want to either go early or late. But it is a real value- check out the special of the day, it is usually a hot sandwich or quiche along with a... More
