Went here tonight with family of 10. Crab cakes are more filler than crab. Kids meals had bigger portions than shrimp/oyster combo and shrimp/scallops combo. Crab cake came with shrimp tail to patron who is allergic to shrimp! Manager was BEYOND rude, not concerned. Taste was mediocre at best. Eat somewhere else. Restrooms are also outside and disgusting!

Went to dinner with friends upon local recommendation. The only fresh seafood items on the menu were the local shrimp and grouper special. Husbands both got the grouper which was only about a 4 ounce serving with burnt carrots at $21.95. We both decided to try the crab cakes as recommended by Southern Coastal at $19.95. These were clearly frozen... More

Majority of our party loved their food. Shrimp and crab bisque was excellent and so were the shrimp and grits. Fried shrimp was good fries were ok. All the kids enjoyed there meals from the kids menu. The adult beverages were good but pricey.

This place is in an old gas station. Stayed busy the whole time we were there. We were there on a Friday evening, 4 t.v.'s were also available for viewing sports.

A nice bar/restaurant with seafood at the other end of the island. Good fries. A nice place to watch sports with plenty of wide screen TVs. (March Madness and South Carolina). Great selection of beer. Definitely recommend.

Not my favorite. Soup not very good. Pricey. Took forever to get food. When got back to house did not have correct order.

Restaurant was busy when we got there, but we were seated quickly. Drinks were great and we got to keep the cups! The shrimp & grits were so good!

I can't think of one thing bad about Whaley's. Everything we've had there - lunch, snacks, drinks, dinner, - has been excellent and truly fresh. George, the "oldest bartender in SC" is attentive. Have a beer while waiting on a table and eat some great boiled peanuts. The flounder was perfectly breaded and friend and completely melted in my mouth!... More

Nice bar, and atmosphere, but food is not up to the hype, fried and appeared to be frozen from a mail order house. Raw oysters did not appear to be shucked fresh, more like on ice for quite a while.

Been here many times while visiting Edisto. Great local vibe. Flounder is excellent and has never disappointed. Also veggie burger is terrific if you have a vegetarian in your group.
