There's nothing like a Skin's hotdog. I just wish the service wasn't so hit and miss. On some days the wait staff are on top of things and super polite, but on others it seems like they're in the worst mood possible.

Let me begin by saying that everyone has their own opinion when it comes to hotdogs. I go solely for dogs with mustard, chili, and onions. No variation. Perhaps boring but it allows to compare dogs from place to place. When I read that Skins was one of top ten places in South Carolina to get a dog I had... More

Stopped in for a quick and inexpensive lunch and got so much more. The personnel there were professional and welcoming. Very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, quick service and great hot dogs.

This has to be absolutely the worst place I have ever eaten in my life. You would have to be an idiot to come back. It looks like they went across the street to Bi-Lo bought a package of the cheapest little hot dogs they could find, dropped it in a bun, and charge an outrageous price for it. If... More

OK. There is no standard by which Skins should be judged to have a great hot dog. Not even a good one. The fact that some people on this list feel they have the "best in the South" is insulting, and is a clear indication that the reviewer has not eaten hot dogs in other locales to challenge that assertion.... I would give this a 0 star if it was available. Has to be the worst hot dog I've ever put in my mouth. So glad I only ordered one. Shriveled bun, in which the tiny hot dog was smaller than the shriveled bun. Worst cole slaw ever. I didn't get their chili, so can't comment on that. This place... More

Whenever we are close to a SKINS, we stop and have a couple of hotdogs. They have buns made especially for them that open on the top and are on the small size. These hotdogs are very moist with homemade chili and not ketchup based. These dogs are not like northern ones so be prepared. I usually just get chili... More

The menu here is hot dogs. Plain or with chili. That's it. If you're snobbish about the All-American Tubesteak, you probably should bypass this place. That being said, if you're looking for friendly service, hot dogs fresh and actually hot, and a quick place to eat, you won't do much better than this. The decor is spartan, but it's a... More

So, this was my first time at Skins. On the menu, hot dogs! Seriously, that's about all that's on the menu. I've had better hot dogs (I'm a Chicago hot dog fan) but this was a popular spot. They could have used a swinging door! People walked in the door saying, "I need 10 all the way!", and they just... More

Skin Thrasher's has been around for over 50 years and you don't stay open and build a following without a good product. The hotdogs are good but not the best ever and the reviews from these people on his saying 'worst ever" or "terrible" must like beans in their chili and come from another part of the country that true...
