If you like good food and don't mind eating off paper plates, this is the place to go. Great location. Small, but well organized space. She crab soup was top notch. First restaurant I have been to that serves hot boiled peanuts when you arrive. I would love to return and sit outside in warm weather.

This was our 6th visit to The Wreck. This place is great but if you are looking for a snooty crowd, this is not your place. Very friendly family place. We love it and everyone is polite and the food is great.

Food is horrible. Sea food was greasy. Hush puppies are burnt to a crisp and tasted stale. Red rice is cold and lumpy and dry and tasted reheated. Portions are small and price is high. Food served on soggy paper plates. Place was not clean. Bathroom was filty. Much better places in Mt Pleasant to have seafood. Don't believe the... More

We stopped in around 730 to find out that they had run out of food and were closed for the night. I'm not sure if this speaks to the quality of the food or to the lack of management (food ordering/prep, etc.) of the restaurant. The hostess said that they were recently on a tv show (I think she said... More

When you first get there you see the theme of the "wreck" being a run down building. Fear not, you eat in a clean, screened dining area (not fully outside) that you can see the water from (during the day). Because it is screened, would not recommend during a hot day. Service was good. A little slow as they were... More

We arrived at The Wreck at opening and was told it was full and we would have a 20 minute wait. However, half the restaurant was empty. We sat outside enjoying the breeze, however people that came after us with the same amount of people were seated prior to us. We caught on quick, the "regulars" were priority no matter... More

Quality has gone down over the years and prices have gone up. Portion size is another questionable area.

Very laid back atmosphere. When you come, you cannot be in a hurry. They do not take reservations; it is first come, first serve! Has an interesting back story: In 1989 during Hurricane Hugo a boat named the Richard & Charlene wrecked on land where the restaurant currently stands made of the remains of the wrecked ship. The menu is... More

This sea food restaurant was suggested to us by a local and it is really off the main road! Rustic and right on the water with pretty sunset views in Mt Pleasant. We had shrimp, red rice, Cole slaw, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies.......all excellent. The portions are good sized. We did save room for dessert, though! We'll be back!

Made the 2 hour trip down from Columbia to go to the Charleston Market and to specifically eat at The Wreck in Mt. Pleasant based on some recent Facebook postings about the restaurant. It is, indeed, a unique seafood restaurant in a hidden location, and does serve seafood and pretty much seafood only. The environment is quite different from most... More
