When you go to a Mexican restaurant, you expect to get chips and salsa. We didn't get that. The tacos were average. I am glad I got two. The rice and refried beans were bland with little taste. Now the drinks were AWESOME! We had...the Good Stuff drink. It was the best part of the meal. My son had chips with his meal. I loved them! They had a hint of lime to them. I just wish we could have had chips and salsa with our meal.More
Came here for lunch with the family and we were not disappointed. First off, it was pretty empty. We decided to sit outdoors and they have a beautiful view over the beach. I got the Baja Shrimp Bowl and my wife got the Street Tacos....Both were very good. The kids got kids bowls and didn't seem to have any complaints. I forget which drinks we got, but my wife got something with a jalapeno in it. I was skeptical, but it was actually pretty good. We both really liked the kick it gave off.More
3 of us went to Banditos for the first time tonight. The service was prompt, which we appreciated. The food however was bland and of a quality that was frankly embarrassing. The "steak" street taco was flavorless cubed bits of overcooked, dry mystery meat. The...short rib burrito... it could have been ANY flavorless protein. It would not of mattered...just VERY bland. The 3rd item, the "bowl"... our adult daughter barely ate any of it and last, the 2 margaritas we had tasted watery.
Now, but what authority do I judge this restaurant so harshly? A) I lived in Texas and ate a lot of Mexican food. B) I owned several bars / restaurants as well.
In the end, we had good service, bland food and a larger than expected bill. Would we return? NO, not for the food, though we enjoyed the atmosphere.More
We had a nice meal here tonight. Nice atmosphere with the outdoor seating. A nice view of the beach. We had a short rib burrito and a couple tacos. Tinga pork was excellent. The drinks are good too. We will try this place a second...time on our visit to Myrtle Beach it was that good.More
We were seated at 8pm on this past Thursday evening, waited 10 minutes till a young man approached the table to ask if we had been helped. I asked about the margaritas to see if they could you fresh lime juice and agave as opposed...to sour mix. First off, any Mexican restaurant that uses sour mix in their margaritas, especially at the prices they're charging is a definite red flag. He mumbled to me that he didn't think so but he would ask. He was clearly disturbed by my question and stormed off without taking our food order. He returned 5 mins later without acknowledging whether he could accommodate the request, and set the drinks down and walked off. At this point, we spoke to the manager, she apologized on his behalf, but based on the service, the sour mix in margaritas, and the overall run down quality of the restaurant we decided to leave. There is nothing authentic about this restaurant and the prices are too high for the low quality.More
