So good. We had carnitas and a shrimp burrito. Both were excellent! The atmosphere is typical Taqueria - nothing fancy but clean. Would drive out of the way to eat here!

Stopped by for dinner while traveling north from Florida. We had a Chicken Chimichanga and Chicken Fajitas. Fresh, hot and delicious! We were served fresh salsa and warm chips prior to the meal and we added a side of fresh guacamole. All excellent. Service was...good. Only downside is the decor including a “lumpy” booth we sat in. Overall though, highly recommend this spot.More
Authentic, fresh and reasonably priced. Not fancy but the food was outstanding! Superb quality and nicely presented. Great selection of Latin soft drinks and candies too. Just a mile off I-95, definitely better than most options in the area. Our server Yanitza was friendly and...attentive. We will go back!More
My flautas were tasty and so was my husband's carnitas. The salsa and rice lacked luster for me. They needed a bit more flavor. Our waitress was great. Mexican food always tastes better with a margarita or a Mexican beer which you can't get here.
We had a family rendezvous (folks from Charleston, SC and Savvannah, GA) and decided to meet 'off the beaten track'. Ridgeland, SC is a cute and historic small town closer to SAV than CHS but it also boasts a sizeable Mexican community and this delightful...small restaurant. The staff at Rocio is very friendly (the family hails from Guerrero as apparently most of the area Mexican folks do). The food was good (we had chimichanga, sopa de mariscos - special on weekends - and una torta de carnitas - everything certainly homemade but not outstanding. The torta was probably the best of the three platos we tried- just the right amount of grease and very filling. Sopa lacked seasoning and the chimichanga was pretty average. But we loved talking with the staff and took up their invitation to visit the panaderia (bakery) down the block and the grocery store. We bought some gifts for family. And also visited the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage on the corner (small arts center - but very interesting). All in all, a fun interlude in Ridgeland. Try the small towns here in the South - that is where you can find a lot of heart and soul.More
This is the go-to place to get authentic and I mean authentic food. Three people can eat her burritos you've been warned! They are ginormous. They also carry beef tongue and tripe tacos for the truly adventurous. This is not taco Bell so don't treat...it that way! I suggest the open face tacos that come with onion and cilantro and radish they have fish , grilled pork, beef tongue in tripe as well.More
We stopped on our way south and was not disappointed. Great flavours and authentic feel. Would recommend to anyone - a must visit!
This is just a casual little place, but we were wowed by the food. It was so unique and special. My husband had shrimp and rice, and I got chicken tacos. The taco shells were so different than the usual ones. I think they were...homemade. Same with the tortilla chips. Nice hot sauce if you ask for it. They were very careful about the Covid concerns, felt safe. We got takeout, but they had a few tables outside. Friendly, quick service. I'd very much recommend it.More
Excellent very fresh food! I had Shrimp with Rice. The shrimp was grilled, and there were sautéed green peppers, onions and tomatoes with it. Rice was very good as well. My husband enjoyed his steak burrito!
Fantastic tacos! Found this based upon Yelp reviews, and they did not lie. Not far off I-95. They do have outdoor tables, which is quite helpful during this pandemic time. No eating inside, and they request only one person enter at a time to order...(or phone in an order). You can them take the food to go, or they will bring your plates to you outside. All staff were wearing masks, and I think all were wearing gloves. Chips and salsa were very tasty. The salsa was a little mild for us, but we tend to like really spicy. My husband and I got three chicken tacos and three beef tacos (so we could share). Cilantro, onion and radish on the plates so you could add as much or as little as you wanted. The beef tacos were good, but the chicken tacos were superb. If you like spicy, I highly recommend asking for their hot green sauce / salsa and adding to the chicken tacos, just to kick it up a notch.More

It’s been a long time since we’ve been here. Same great Mexican food. I think the whole family works here. Excellent fajitas and chimichangas. No alcohol so bring your own. Service a little slow tonight because the place was very crowded. Our go to place...for Mexican food.More
Quick dinner stop. Server was busy with cash register so service was slow. Food was delicious even though they left the beans off our tostadas. I'd go back again.
Best Mexican food ever. On our way to Richmond from Fort Myers . Service was great and friendly. Very clean restaurant. Would highly recommend!!!
My boyfriend and I come here all the time. The staff is super friendly, and the food is always made fresh and amazingly good! I love that they have the taco stand outside on weekends at night, too. The interior could be better, I can't...deny that, but what they lack in stylish decor they make up for in flavor! With Ridgeland having 3 exits off I-95, this is a great, affordable place to get a good quick meal for travelers.More
