Food was displayed very well, English not spoken here, could not understand me, no effort to seat me. I waited and waited, then left.

The food was freshly made and good. It took a while to order and then to receive the food but it was our only option.
Good hot food on a pre X-Mas night driving through and very friendly service. Well worth the visit. They don’t take any CC but not a problem. Reasonable prices for large quantity of food. 👍🏼
Friendly, helpful staff, and okay Chinese. If you're from a town that has real Chinese-American food, you will be disappointed. The entrees we got were freshly prepared and cooked with care, but slathered in mostly slaty sauces. Served with steamed white rice, no brown rice.
This is mainly a restaurant for pickup, they have a few tables but it's not comfortable dining. Think Subway. Portion was huge, but it was quantity rather than quality, I didn't even eat half of it. When the franchise Cracker Barrel is rated the #2...restaurant in town, you know it will be difficult to find an excellent dining experience...More
China Express is a local favorite because you get a lot of really good food at a very good price. This place has to be the best bargain in town. One plate is enough to feed 2 people! I've been going to this place for...15 years or more. Most locals call in orders and just drive to pick them up because there is no delivery and the dine in area is very small. So if you're traveling on a budget, this has to be the best choice but be prepared to eat either in the very small dine in area where tons of people go in and out to order, pick up and sometimes wait, in your car, or there's a nearby park that is great if you're traveling with children. The park is small and centralized in a residential neighborhood that is safe. This small park features a big duck pond, some picnic tables, lots of shade, trash cans of course, and a small playground area for kids that are tired of being automobile confined. The easiest way (for me) to get there from the China Express is to take a left out of the parking lot (back onto Jeffries). You'll go up a small hill, pass the courthouse, down a small hill and across a bridge (Hardees & Wendy's are on each side of the small bridge) and then you'll see McDonalds's on the left. There's a road that goes behind McDonald's and I usually just turn into McDonald's and go straight through the short parking lot to the back exit, take a left and then the 1st road to the right. Go to the end of that street (one stop sign) and keep going straight. You come out almost directly across from the park. If you're unsure, you can always ask anyone at Mc Donald's because everyone in town knows where the park is =]More
Typical Chinese buffet food. Friendly staff, nice to find hand dipped ice cream. Rice was not in cooker, but on the food bar. Rice was very sticky. Price was $8, you get what you pay for. For me, it hit the spot during a stay...over in Walterboro on a multi-day road trip.More
We are from Toronto where Chinese food is a main stay and we are fussy about our Chinese food. This is our second time taking out food from China Express and both times it has been excellent. The chicken wings, that the owner gave us...to try while waiting for our order, are better than anything available in Toronto. We would come back just for the wings. The menu is limited and it is cash only. Limited seating and the busyness of the counter makes it better to take out than eat in.The owner is helpful; both times he told us we were ordering too much. He was right. The servings are huge and it is a lot of food for the money.Even when we scaled down our order we had enough food for 2 dinners.More
This is an okay Chinese restaurant offering typical Chinese food served in the United States. Nothing special about it.
I am new in town and went there to get take out. I did not like the fact that ham fried rice is offered in combo plates and I asked if I could substitute it for another fried rice and was rudely told no, even...when I would pay the difference. Chicken wing with dinners??? Not used to that. Food was not that great and portion size was small compared to Chinese restaurants more North of the US, not good quality meats. I won't be going back and I have traveled the country and have never had food this bad. Don't go, the lady at the counter was rude and they won't accommodate customer requests even when offered to pay the difference.More
Best Chinese food in Walterboro. The chinese man can be a little rude sometimes but I love the food and the portion sizes are great.
Just got egg drop soup but it only took three minutes and I was on my way. The soup was excellent and the price was lower than comparable Chinese takeout restaurants in the area.
I went there twice; once to pick up a take-out menu and once to pick up the meal that I had called in. Both times, there were a number of people waiting to pick up their dinners. And, on the wall were a few plaques...about "Best Oriental Restaurant," etc. You can eat in, but people waiting for their food will almost be leaning over you. This is primarily a take-out place. We had: Egg drop soup ($2), ok Fried wontons (10 @ $5.50), the best part of the meal General Tao chicken ($8.25), good #19 Sesame chicken platter ($7.50), very good, but supposed to come with a chicken wing and fried rice, both missing In addition to getting shorted on my order, the other thing I did not like was how the bill was tallied. He moved away (to an adding machine? cash register?), out-of-sight, rang stuff up, and then told me how much I owed. No receipt. By the way, this is a CASH only place. The food was very good, and there was plenty of it. I would go back, but: (1) I would look into each container to make sure that my order was complete and (2) I would ask for an itemized receipt With these concerns in mind, I could only give this restaurant an overall rating of "average."More
Tried this place for convenience and was pleasantly surprised. The food is well prepared and fresh. We ate-in and relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. No, no atmosphere but clean and comfortable. The people are very friendly and I watched the food being prepared in very large...aged woks. It's not your normal take out chain. It's a family run take-out or eat-in fast service restaurant.More
We called in an order here last night for the first time since we wanted Chinese and it was much closer to us than the other Chinese places in town. Our order for two people was $20 and came with a ton of food (8...crab rangoons, a huge plate of orange chicken, the biggest chicken wing I've ever seen, a large portion of 3 chicken teriyaki kabobs & 2 big portions ham fried rice.) I'd say it was enough for four people as we had lots of leftovers. This was double the amount of food we've gotten at other local Chinese places for only a dollar or two more. The food was ready in five minutes. The only setback is they take cash only, which is fine for us but I know it might hold up a few people from eating there. Definitely worth the trip to an ATM!More
