We didn;t come by design but we were glad we did. Food was excellent. Our server had a large table near us and came by to tell us she would get to us as quick as she could. Little things make a difference,

Trying to find a really good steak can be a challenge, decided to try the Gem as they claim to have one of the best steakhouses in Deadwood. I would say only average. It was a Friday night and we waited 20 minutes for a...More

We had dinner here our first night. The chicken was delicious and the side vegetable of green beans were fantastic.

Went here for a steak dinner and were pleasantly surprised, service notwithstanding. Our server, Traci L, did a superb job under trying circumstances. Seemed like she was the only one covering the side of the restaurant we were seated in. Looked like there should have...More

We stopped at the Gem Steakhouse in our rounds of eating at various Deadwood restaurants. Waited a bit for a table primarily because of what appeared to be a very limited staff was running around clearing tables. Once seated, we had to wait for quite...More

Family ate here on our only night in deadwood. The steaks were good. Service was good, but incredibly slow, so plan on being there for a while.

We didn't make one and got right in. But we were there on a Sunday night. I would probably try if you are going on a busier night. Some places in Deadwood don't take reservations though. So I am not sure.
