I am a dedicated Starbucks client. Common Ground is the only local coffee shop anywhere I travel that I prefer to Starbucks. Good coffee, great service, terrific atmosphere. I always stop in when I'm in Spearfish.

I met a new friend at Common Grounds while on a motorcycle trip in the Black Hills. The coffee and food were great and the service was friendly. I recommend this place if you are in Spearfish.

Common Grounds started out as a very small coffee shop connected to a flower boutique. It has GROWN over the years and how has its own building. The atmosphere is always relaxing and calm, even when busy. They also have some of the best wraps in town for lunch, I recommend that Teriyaki Chicken Wrap!

We had seen this coffee shop while going to a traveling play at restaurants so wanted to return for some food. It was... More

Came back to town to visit family and met up here. The shop has a wonderful small town atmosphere, great coffee, good food and polite, professional staff. If you want good coffee and conversation in a nice atmosphere you gotta stop here.

I've loved Common Grounds since 1999 when I started college! I can't just order a standard cappuccino or latte. I get a hankering for a certain flavor and let the baristas try to work their magic, such as, "I'd like something that tastes like Nutella." or "How about something tropical but not fruity?" Yesterday I was "in the mood for... More

Good variety of hot and cold beverages, sandwiches, wraps and salads. Ice cream in the summer time. the breakfast burrito is a favorite as is the Smoked salmon salad. Friendly, homey atmosphere. The owners are great supporters of local community events. Great place to meet friends for coffee and snack or a light lunch.
