The farm to table movement is the best thing that could happen to American food. St. John's is doing this with just enough experimentation to make a meal fabulous. The pimento cheese appetizer was perfect way to ease into the meal. And when another table cleared-out the inventory of racks of lamb, they were quick to substitute a filet what... More

We thoroughly checked out Chattanooga restaurants on the internet, before we decided on St. John's and it was a very good decision. Researching restaurants in Chatt., we found St. John's was at the top of the heap ( including the TOP) on Trip Advisor so.... The ambience was perfect, the staff was great and the food was absolutely delicious!! The... More

Great service, good food, and pleasant but not opulent decor. Haute cuisine might describe it and prices very high. Good for a special occasion.

This was one of Chattanooga's top "five star" dining choices. My opinion is that in recent years the quality is down. Each ingredient in a dish used to be extraordinarily prepared and would combine to create incredible flavors. Recently, the quality of the food has declined to "average". It's still good, but not at the apex as it was a... More

Found St. John restaurant through TripAdvisor, my husband had the sweet breads and thought they were outstanding I had the potato pirogies with brisket and thought that was awesome. Joe was our server, he gave us good suggestions and met our every need. For dessert we had fried Huckleberry hand pies, they were delicious.

Hadn't been in Chattanooga in awhile, and took a quick weekend to celebrate my husband's bday. Took tripadvisor to heart, and went to St. John's for dinner. Was wonderful. Had the tartare starter, and although very different from the traditional German/Polish style - it was great. He had the duck confit and thought it was really done well - but... More

This was a nice surprise in downtown Chattanooga. The interior is well done and the the atmosphere is appealing and the staff is top rate. Each course was well prepared and the presentation striking. The locally sourced items were all excellent and all of the entrees got raves from the table. The wine list was interesting and the bar is... More

Outstanding food, beautifully done. Easily one of the memorable places we've eaten. Service was excellent as well. I enjoyed the Forager from the bar. The Tartare and the crab salad were both outstanding. Rochioli on the wine list, too.
