We stopped for a late lunch. It was clean and cute in the dinning area. Some of the food was cold and maybe needed to be swapped out with fresh. I watched a man in front of me drain the juice off his greens back...into the pot on the Buffett, umm no thanks. The salad bar was really fresh and really good.More

This was my first time to eat here for breakfast so I don’t know if it was normal or not, but the gravy was runny the biscuits a little dry and there were no hot cakes for virtually the whole time we were there. Would...also like fresh fruit and more Low carb choices.More

We visited the Old Country Store as part of our visit to the Casey Jones Home and Museum. We didn't order food here, but enjoyed looking at the displays and sales counters of old candy that transported us back to our childhood. You can get...candy here that is hard is not impossible to find at most other places.More

Waitress took 15 minutes to wait on us since she was talking at another table. Was only allowed 2 meats even though we paid separately. Food was good but service was terrible. A friendly waitress is nice but not with one customer for 15 minutes.

One word. Disappointing. I was excited to try the new family style dining but was disgusted at the end of my experience. First of all the price is too expensive for the quality of food and sanitation that is at this store. The meat selection...was all chicken and you can only choose three meats to split between your whole table. The fried fish was soggy. The chicken was dry. Who wants some dried chicken?? I could’ve just went to McDonald’s and the chicken would have been better. The only good “meat” was the chicken and dumplings but I know they are just from a bag. The floors look like they haven’t been cleaned since it opened in 1960. It smells like dead animals are living in the walls. The waitress was nice but I would’ve liked not to have been bothered by her the whole time.More

Because of the Covid19 the restaurant changed from buffet to family dining. You get to choose 3 meats and 4 veggies and 1 dessert. Plus it comes with soup and salad. And it’s all you can eat. If you leave there hungry it’s your fault....Keep up the delicious work Brooks.More

We went here to have something out of the ordinary, sat down we were asked what to drink and gave us a menu, you choose 3 meats 4 vegetables and a dessert. It was mostly chicken so not much choices there. The same goes for...the vegetables. Chicken was dry,mac and cheese and spaghetti were overcooked, collard greens were so salty,I couldn't eat it,dessert was very good,I had the BlackBerry cobbler and my husband had the chocolate cake, that cake was very good. But all in all service was great, but, not enough for us to come back again.More

We wanted to get away from the chains and dine at a local restaurant. All I have to say is this, If this is the 3rd best dining option in Jackson, I would hate to see the 23rd option. It was a buffet, the food...was cold and they did a poor job of replenishing items. I will say this, the rolls were delicious. There sure weren’t many dessert options. Next time through Jackson, it will be Longhorns for me !!More

We decided to stop here on our way to Memphis, it was dinnertime and we had hungry kids in the car. I know roadside buffets can be a bit sketchy, but I was optimistic.. unfortunately this one was just gross. The floors were dirty, tables...were sticky and the bathrooms weren't well maintained. There was an area in the buffet where water was dripping out of the ceiling..right into the fruit. It was not good. There were some areas where you could see non-restaurant spaces, and they were cluttered and dirty. We shouldn't have stayed, but when you have hungry kids you end up taking chances. Don't take this chance, trust me. They did have a good cucumber salad on the main salad bar. That was about it.More

I’m from a small country town and get up eating at home w/a heritage of mothers cooking country recipes that have been handed down over the generations. I have to say this place takes me back to my younger days w/big family gatherings sitting around...the table. Don’t change anything!More
