I ate here for dinner after returning to Knoxville for the weekend to visit friends. I had never tried El Mezcal before so decided to stop by. The food is fairly bland. I always considered it difficult to do Mexican food poorly but I was proven wrong here. The service is adequate at best. The staff, while not being rude,... More

There isn't anything special about this place. They have all the familiar dishes you find at typical Mexican Restaurants. The service is was average. The prices are average to decent. I wasn't impressed with the House Margarita either. Doubt I return, I'm sure Knoxville has a better Mexican Restaurant somewhere.

My husband and I went here for lunch on a Saturday. We had food poisoning from out visit. It was the worst food poisoning I have ever had! I would not recommend it, service was terrible as well.

Go here a lot for Sunday lunch simply because it's convenient. But boy it's the choice of mucho gringos then, week after week. I like the calamari tacos. Other popular dishes include chile relleno taco with beans, Mexican rice and guac, plus grilled pork fajitas with pico de gallo, sour cream, guac, Mexican rice, and beans.

While traveling on New Year's Day, we planned to stop at our favorite Knoxville Mexican restaurant for lunch but, it was closed. We happened to spot this restaurant while driving down Kingston Pike and decided to give it a try. We were both very glad we did. The wait staff was friendly and efficient and the food was very good.... More

This place is pretty close to where I live so I really wanted this place to be good. I've given it multiple chances and overall it's just okay. I think they are known for their drink specials and more affordable menu. The food isn't bad-it's just nothing to go out of your way to get to.

Not much to look at from the outside, but this little neighborhood favorite is always packed with hungry guests! They have daily food and drink specials. Their salsa is delicious. I especially like their Burrito Mexicano. It is filled with pulled pork and grilled veggies, then covered with white cheese sauce. I'm drooling as I type this!

I tried El Mezcal for the first time yesterday with my fiance and his sister. The inside of the restaurant seemed clean and the decor was fun and interesting. The waitress took our order promptly, but seemed to slack off after the order was taken. We had to ask for extra napkins twice before she brought them. It took about... More

Always love a night here with friends, good food, and great drinks! The staff is always friendly and attentive. Love all the TVs they have with different sporting events playing. You can always be certain they will have whatever game you want to watch on.
