First of all, the burgers and sides were delicious. So what was the problem? Service! We went to this restaurant around 7pm during the week. Let's just say our patronage did not seem appreciated. All that the staff at that hour seemed interested in was getting cleaned up and closing for the night. We were treated coolly, it took forever... More

My wife and I discovered Calhoun's almost by accident a year ago. We now stop in each time we are going through Knoxville. The food is delicious. The service has always been very good. There are very generous servings of food. And yes, the next time we are through Knoxville, we do plan to stop again and enjoy that "Taste... More

So, the fried catfish, baked beans and creamed spinich was great. The chicken and ribs were just ok. If you want sweet pies then this will serve you well too. The service was pretty slow, forgot a couple of drinks twice and was just not very sharp, although they were friendly.

Some friends and I gathered at this restaurant for drinks and some "munchies" while we discussed some business. I was pleased when our server said that the restaurant had onion rings. I LOVE onion rings, but not the ones that were delivered to me. The other items on the menu may be excellent, but the onion rings most definitely are... More

I'll start with the good-the white sangria is delicious and so are the fried pickles and bread. Also, the restaurant is clean and the decor is very cute. Now the bad-my husband got a burger and said it was the worst burger he's ever had in his life and he never complains about food. The bun had vinegar on it,... More

Food is always hot, cooked to your specifications, and delicious! Customer service is "Outstanding!" Don't forget to order the Banana Pudding! There is nothing about this restaurant that I dislike...I always take family & friends new to TN to this restaurant!

I had eaten at Calhoun's on the River a few times several years ago and remembered it had great ribs. So we tried this one on our way through Knoxville. The ribs are still wonderful. I prefer this dry type of rib- lots of flavor that seems to melt off the bone. I tried a Calhoun's Trio which includes ribs,... More

Had an early lunch appointment today and decided to meet at Calhoun's in Turkey Creek. Helped them open the doors at 11:00 a.m. Drinks and hot bread in 2 minutes. 10 minutes and we had the most tender chickens strips (5) possible, hot fried out of the oil. With the chicken, slices of crisp bacon, shredded mozzarella cheese and crumbled... More

Always a family favorite of ours. You get all the yumminess of smoked BBQ but with the a atmosphere of an upscale dining establishment. Wood paneled walls, dark decor and open seating add a flare of masculinity to the restaurant. Despite the decor, the food is genuine BBQ and southern favorites. Amazingly enough the sides and appetizers are just as... More

All of the Calhoun's in the Knoxville, TN and surrounding areas have a slightly different atmosphere like in Turkey Creek you are near lots of shopping, while other locations are on the river, at the dam or in the mountains, etc. but one thing you can count on is the food is always good. Highly recommend if you are in... More
