We lunched here on a short visit to Guernsey and were charmed by its Rustic Atmosphere. My brother treated himself to a bacon baguette filled with flavoursome slices of meat (£6.50), and I opted for Gammon with pineapple and cheese and a mixed salad and...More

Excellent communication via email with Ali to book room. £99 per night for b&b. We hired a car from airport and were pleasantly surprised to see The Captains' location printed on the island map, which made it easy to find. Those little roads are a...More

We were staying at another hotel a few minutes walk away and some locals in our hotel bar recommended a visit here. Called for a drink and the landlady Ali was absolutely lovely, we also met her husband Del and had some great fun conversations...More

A slightly strange place because while the upstairs bar has the feel of a classy hotel the downstairs eating area is much more homely with a local pub feel to it. What makes the Captains Hotel is the food, which is reasonably priced and comes...More

Known this place for years Friendly and vey generous The main issue is they churn out very generous helpings of what can at times be very bland food For the first time this year they are charging Restaurant prices rather than Pub Food. They have...More

We visited with friends who live on the island and who had not used the restaurant before. The food was exceptional and not over expensive. Service was excellent and with a smile!

The food was fantastic but were were kept waiting 75 minutes after ordering. Staff were most appologetic and gave us drinks 'on the house' but the eventual portions were off-puttingly huge.

Before the recent renovations upstairs, this historic pub was fantastic. Now it's even better. Definitely the best local on Guernsey. A must see. Can't wait to go back.

It is not a fancy restaurant with sophisticated food and presentation. However here you get plain English pub food of decent quality. Maybe somewhat overpriced as all restaurants in Guernsey. This accomodation compensates it with very, very, very large portions.

Came here for a meal at the weekend with my partner as had a lunch here previously and it was really good, but I was very disappointed. I ordered a burger and when I came it did look good around £11 for a burger which...More

As the owner and one of the chefs at the Captains, and the one that was cooking the evening you were in, I would like to make absolutely crystal clear that we do not serve 'tinned' burgers, wasn't actually aware that anything like that existed....More

Description
The Captains is best described as an Inn with rooms, all 9 en suite bedrooms have been recently re-carpeted and are equipped with tv, tea and coffee facilities and complimentary toiletries. The bar attracts locals and visitors alike and you are guaranteed lively banter around the bar area. Whilst the bistro and bar area serves traditional bar meals, the Captains has gained a reputation in recent years for their Seafood dishes and the freshest of local fish. Reservations are not always necessary but to avoid disappointment it is suggested at the weekends and the busy summer months.
