The food in this restaurant is excellent. The menu is changed every day depending on the best food available for that day. The couple who run it are welcoming and the service is brilliant. l

We booked at short notice, but the French couple who run the bistro were accommodating, friendly, attentive, efficient and helpful. The food was superb, as was the ambience. Braunton is a small town in north Devon, and is very lucky to have such a classy establishment. It felt authentically French. There are cheaper places nearby, but treat yourself to Le... More

I was lucky to get into this restaurant even at 7pm in the evening. It's not a massive place and it get's busy so booking might be advantageous if you specifically want to get in on a particular night. It's a typically French bistro serving a basic menu of great food. I had the Fish of the Day (sorry can't... More

The charm of The Bistro is that it is tiny, always full and yet Jacques and Beatrice manage to make you feel that you are the only diners who matter! The food is consistently excellent - fish, meat, gorgeous local veg and desserts that you just HAVE to try .......... the creme brûlée simply cannot be missed. A delightful, casual... More

Very good food. Fabulous atmosphere. A little bit of Paris in Braunton. The cosy vibe in this little restaurant combined with excellent French food gives this restaurant a very special atmosphere. If you want crisp linen and intimate dining this is not the place for you. This tiny restaurant with a small staff hosted by the patrons of the restaurant... More

Superb very french style cooking. Chateaubriand was cooked properly. Jacques shows you the meat and lobster sometimes before he cooks it. Fish is super local fresh with fresh local vegetables and some unusual ones. The frites are the best ever had! Atmosphere is typical french bistro style and Beatrice always ensures you are well looked after and go out of... More

Too many people booked in at the same/ similar time resulting in long delays in ordering food & service. Staff were very pleasant and food was okay - not inspiring. Very disappointed to see paper tablecloths - more akin to cheap cafe than a restaurant. Would not be interested in visiting again. Although the food was pleasant enough the overall... More

Perfect hosts, who make you smile as soon as you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble. Food was fantastic, a real treat to have classic French food here in North Devon. Beautiful setting. Felt like we could have stayed for hours and it would have been no bother. Can't wait to return! Thankyou!

Beatrice and Jaques are amazing and so attentive even when the place was full! Fabulous fish soup and cold meats to start. Wine choice well thought out and accurately described to suit all palettes. Main for me was Moules which were delicious and my hubby had filete and which he loved too. For ambience, friendly warm staff could not recommend... More
